Yes, its true. I would say entrepreneurship in general. Like you are taking full responsibility for yourself. Most people want a secure job with a secure income, no risk. You need to be disciplined and focused. What helped me a lot is my sports background. I play football/soccer since I am a child, still do it today. Its very normal for me to deal with defeats, mistakes or fails. Its like "Ok, I failed. Tomorrow or next time I will be better." Many people don't have this attitude/mindset. They fail once and they stop, they can't deal with defeats.
Especially in IM you have to hustle a lot. You can rank the greatest website and the next day Google is updating their algorithm and your website is going straight to the shadow realm. My mindset is: If you penalize my website, I will make two of it and rank them.

Mistakes and obstacles are fun dude. If you don't enjoy problem solving, IM is not for you...
Don't do IM because of the money, most of us who are successful from some type of IM actually enjoy the process of it, the money is just a bonus.
I sometimes think that I start projects before ever finishing them, because I just enjoy the start of new things way to much. I don't even care about money, I'm doing what I love. Money will just let me quit the job I hate so I can love IM for longer every day.
