found a keyword with 2 , 000 , 000 results

monthly searches = 49,000 [ local searches same ]

adwords competiton = low

sites on first page .gov .edu , twitter profile , wikipedia , Britannica


pr of first site = 8

others = 0 - 5

niche health .

should i go for it . EMD not available

will go with a blogger [ got EM on blogger ]

i can get many articles . [ unique , long ]

need suggestions

Advertise on BHW
Low AdWords competition can mean two things:
1.) GOLD - you have found a buying keyword no one else knows about (0,0000001% chance)
2.) The keyword is informational and not buying, people don't spend money there

Second option is much more likely, so I suggest testing the keyword with AdWords to see if there is an earning potential before investing time and money in SEO.
 
adwords low competition means no advertiser who wants to advertise on that keyword.

You can check spyfu.com for previous advertiser on that keyword.

Note that low adwords competition only applies on adsense, you can also try to put amazon, cpa, or cb products.
 
just create the blog post 1 or 2 articles and see where your site stands
if its anywhere close to top then you can do little seo and get it on first page
even if the cpc is low i think 49k searches will be worth your time and money if you spend any on seo
otherwise blogger is always free
you don't have much to loose anyway
 
Sounds like an informational keyword. Are there affiliate programs for this product?

are those results broad match or exact match
if low competition for adwords this generlallly means adsense is useless
so you will definitely need to find another monetization method
Not all keywords are Money keywords, some are where people are just looking for information
and have no intention of buying

I strongly recommend people learn about keyword research before starting their IM career.
choose a very easy keyword to rank, (ignore the number of searhes, even 100 searches a month is good
so you can see what is involved in ranking.

There are plenty of tutorials available. The bigest mistake people make is they spend 10 minute on keyword reseach and months trying to rank useless keywords

Use the tools, but more importantly use your head.
keyword research is 99% common sense,

If you want to buy a product, what keywords would you use, what variations show the same intentions
Example:
acne cure (Great)
acne treatments (Good)
acne images (terribl)

If your looking for a local business, separate the ones who are just browsing and this who really need the service

plumber New York City (Great)
how to fix a leaky faucet (terrible)

I spend 6 hours on keyword research, 2 hours on building the website

If I get the 1st one wrong I'm stuffed
If i get the 2nd one wrong its an easy fix

thanks for help just found a good keyword in health niche

searches [ us ] = 14k

cpc = $1.89

only 6 hompages in top 50

[ most are new ]

i will spend some time on keyword research . [ many advertisers ]
 
I only use G's keyword tool to do a quick and dirty overview. If a keyword has low comp it's usually for a good reason, like trademark issues or something that is not worth the time or money to pursue.

Hey, could you please explain this? Not sure what you mean, I'm not native english so maybe I'm not just familiar with this phrase.

Overall great advice, I stored it into my textfile of wisdom for future benefit :)
 
you have to research more and if the adwords is low it will probably not be good for adsense either IMO
 
This does not sound like a good keyword at all.

1. It doesn't appeal to a world-wide audience, severely limiting who you can market to.
2. Low adwords competition is usually a BAD thing. This means not a lot of advertisers are bidding on the keyword so it's probably not a profitable one.
3. Edu/Gov sites taking up the front page is further indication that it's not a keyword suitable for commerical use. Commerical Use = PROFIT.
 
Like others have said, what in the world makes you think you will easily outrank the .gov and .edu domains with PR going up to 8 on the top 10?

And yes, low adwords comp would imply that this keyword has low commercial value.
