For NEUSA... not sure if you guys felt it this year like I did... but this was one of the most brutal, relentless, cold, miserable winters I've ever been through.
I don't track weather by year all I know is this winter was so consistently cold my mind snapped and I actually went vegan.
After 32 years of eating meat / animal products the cold got to me so bad I NEEDED some type of escape. Some drastic new change in my life and it's been 14 days since I've eaten any form of animal byproducts (including dairy).
I have no agenda to spread vegan on anyone. But let me just say that healthwise I feel like superman. My early winter fat is melting off my body with LESS exercise than normal. My blood pressure is lower than it's been in 6 years. My cholesterol is also low. And I'm getting boners at least 5xs more than I normally do. I even mentioned it to my doctor thinking this was some "vegan myth" but he confirmed he's heard it many times before.
What's weird, financially nothing has improved. My business is seasonal and things don't generally take off till late April.
But I feel absolutely incredible. I'm calmer when driving. Calmer everywhere I go. Feel more focused. More energy. Sleeping better. I haven't just gotten compliments on my face looking thinner but someone complimented my NOSE the other day. They said "your nose looks sharper". I said "what?" Then looked in a mirror and noticed they were right.
I think there was a tiny bit of fat keeping my nose round from eating animal fat / protein and it looks more narrow now. It's pretty crazy.
I want to be clear. I did NOT do this for political reasons. Didn't do it to save any animals. I have no problems with slaughter houses or people who eat meat (my middle brothers a butcher). It was a combination of a film I saw (Forks Over Knives), health research and unbearably cold weather.
One final thing. I've been bodybuilding as a hobby forever. Even when I was a pothead / drug addict. And I've always been taught "meat is good, you need it for protein and muscle". So naturally I'd eat tons of chicken, turkey and fish. But I can say for a fact, the way I feel now, even if I do lose some muscle (which I haven't) I'm most likely sticking to this "diet" forever.
Just wanted to give a shout out to March, the warm weather that's coming and any dudes who are feeling sluggish, tired or have health problems. This is the best time of year to take action & MARCH forward. The weather's changing. Bears are waking up and shit. In 2 months clothes will start falling off females. Do yourself a favor and take care of your health.
Cheers!

ps. If anyone is seriously considering doing this. The **1** thing that helped me the most was I repetitively told myself "this is gonna be easy". And when OTHER PEOPLE said "you're gonna fail" or "this is gonna be hard"... I IMMEDIATELY corrected them and said, "it's gonna be exactly what I think it will, I think it will be easy, so that's what it will be". And so far it's been pretty damn easy.
