I find it weird.. please help!!

Im new to this internet world, and Im interested to learn web designing using photoshop and dreamweaver.

I downloaded some tutorial videos from youtube... and I watched them all. When i was trying to do my web design using photoshop... The gradient takes too long to load, and I got error at the end something like "memory is full"... My photoshop is running, and also my adobe player because I'm watching the tutorial as a guide in case I forgot something.

My laptop has a free space of 70.6GB/138GB after I downloaded dreamweaver. Then When i got the error in photoshop, I checked my memory space and it says that my free space is 30GB/138GB.. which i find it weird.. I close all of the programs I was using without saving anything.. and I checked my memory space again, and it went back to 70.60GB free space..

I wanna know why, and what should I do.. to avoid the same error so I can continue working on my first website template... Any help will be appreciated:)

That's about RAM memory, not HDD space.
Photoshop eats huge amounts of RAM. Download an older version, they need less resources.
 
do you mean, uninstall my cs5?? and download photoshop like cs3?? since its older version...thanks for the response:)
 
You really gotta work on your computer skills man. To use things like ps and dw you need to at least know the difference between ram and hard drive space, not to mention how programs are installed and run. Not trying to be a jerk but you come off as if your PC is a modified speak and spell and you just pulled it out of the box and had the cable guy do all the setup work for you... :confused:
 
Your RAM memory seems to be very low and it requires hard disk source to store
Try to increase RAM memory, problem would be solved

Keep at it man! We all started from nothing (even though some of us seem to talk like we have a cable coming out of our asses) If you persists for the next 30 days and learn nothing but Dreamweaver and photoshop you should be doing ok.

No, not going to happen soon! The OP is clearly speaking about his HDD!

Ok, to the OP, Photoshop handles a lot of images, multiple windows with images, and all in all, informations of layers, dump at different levels of editing(which will help you to use the History tool!)etc etc etc!

So, PS takes a dump file storage, and put all infos, and dumps there while the program is working!!
And they are volatile informations so that they are deleted after the program exits!!

Well, as far as I know, PS ask you for the dump space limit on installation! And at this point, there is nothing much to worry, Just ignore the notification!

No, 138GB of Hard Disk Drive:D I only got 2GB RAM:) Sorry about the confusion:D..I will use cs3 rather than cs5:) and yea, thinking to buy RAM too..
 
Also make sure you're using the correct bit version for your computer (x64 or x86/32-bit). Using the wrong version will make your computer unhappy. =]
 
the oldest version is cs1, cs5 is the newest. i have both version on my computer, yes cs5 take big memory..
 
Just use CS3, except some photo editing features (like Content aware fill) it's the same thing.

The HDD space is enough, i sometimes have over 300 pictures opened at the same time with 2-3 layers each and it never filled more than 10Gb of space.
 
the portable versions are the best, there is no portable for CS5 that I know off yet, but a 60 MB for CS4 is good to go if you know where to look for clean warez
 
If you have 2 gigabytes of Ram, this should be sufficient for PS5. I don't know your processor speed and that might be the issue.

Be sure to run a thorough virus scan on your system! It sounds like you may be infested with viruses and they can be running in the background hogging up all of your system resources. You probably don't notice it until you run a resource heavy program like PhotoShop. I have worked on many people's computers and virus infection is the cause for their RAM being gobbled up about 90% of the time.
 
I already run virus scan, Im using avira.. But no virus detected:) I even did restore system... I don't know why its not working with me...

A safe overclock is:
10% of the original speed on stock cooler

I use clockgen, that works for me. My cpu is capped at 3.2Ghz (its a pentium D). It was 2.8ghz before, i managed to get it to 3.2ghz without any overheating or anything (i was not using the stock cooler, i was using an artic cooling freezer 7 pro). If clockgen freezes up, it probably means your oc'ing over the cap limit.

If the OP does not know the difference between RAM & free hard disk space do you think its a good idea to talk about overclocking? Could be amusing but...:rolleyes:
 
Best bet is to learn how to build a computer for $300-400 off newegg that can run photoshop and anything else really because parts are getting cheaper and cheaper these days for the amount of power you get.
 
Dare I say it....why don't you just use Wordpress for building sites.
