Hey BHW,

So I ran into a very frustrating issue on FB ads last night. I have a ecommerce store (dropshipping) that I have been running for awhile. I’ve been running ads for awhile too with more or less similar results in a campaign. It never costs me more than $15 for a purchase and usually it’s less.

So, a couple nights ago, I was messing around with a custom bid setting with a budget of $50/dayto get my costs down. I had it set around $4.50 per conversion. It worked at first but then my ad basically stop delivering. 3 purchases for $16.

I copied the exact ad but changed the bid to have no max but aim to keep the cost as low as possible. I changed a couple words in the copy and published it. My ad gets accepted.

The Problem — my ad instantly spends $43 of my budget for basically no results. I thought at first it was a glitch or something and that my ad was going to get delivered over the course of the next few hours. Instead, it kept using up my budget and delivering basically no more results until I shut it off. Ended up spending $60 for very little compared to what I always get.

I’ve added some pics, the first one is the results from my “$60” ad spend vs two other campaigns I spent significantly less on.

$50 isn’t the end of the world but my store is low margin and just eating that cost kinda hurts. Any advice, or has anyone else experienced this? I dont even know how to contact FB support haha

You need to contact fb support for this. You have the image proofs already ready. Good luck.

Thanks! Yea I will be, always like to hear if others have dealt with (and hopefully overcome) a situation like this though.

Yep ..just contact FB support and report that
Update for anyone who may come across this.
Ended up contacting FB support where they told me it was a glitch and the next day started to say it was my fault and my problem to deal with. Got nothing but generic responses...pretty frustrating

FB is well-known to have a shitty support. Unfortunately I don't think there is something you can do about this. Are you absolutely sure you didn't set it to take all the money instantly?

I’ve created literally a thousand ads and never had this issue. I don’t see how anything I did would result in all my budget being used in a second. Apparently, according to FB, I shouldn’t edit my ads in the future haha. Just make new ones

Then it was just a bug. But what are you gonna do? You can't quit FB ads, and they know that. That's why they don't even care about your problems.
