Hey, Ya I am posting this in "The Lounge" in BHW. I am pretty desperate. So I went out about 7 months ago, and rode my motorcycle from the bar.

Well, I crashed, into a fire hydrant. And I was drinking heavily.

My charges just came in and Im looking at prison time.

There is a lawyer with an insane reputation out here and he is asking 25k.

My court date is on the 13th of January, so I will be trying to get that extended.

I am not looking to be spoon fed, I am just looking for some fingers pointing in the right direction on some ways to earn that kind of cash.

What seems to be the officer, problem?

Seriously though, in this case I believe the fire hydrant had right-of-way :)

Any previous convictions? if not it shouldnt be tooooo bad, they could take it as soon one of those once of mistakes and you could possibly get a suspended sentence...
I got a load of bad class A charges and driving charges when i was younger , i got away with fines because i had no previous, you need to make it look like youv changed and a benefit to community. do a few charity runs and things like that

I think male prostitution will be the only way to make that sort of money, as a male escort you could service 10 dudes a day at $50 a pop.
That's $500 per day as a rent boy, you could clear the 25k in 50 days.
The only disadvantage is that if you do get sent down then your a-hole won't be tight enough for your fellow inmates and they will probably demand oral instead.

Where the fuck do you live OP?

I crashed my car headon to a minivan with children (at 35mph) while on ativan at age 17 and didn't serve 1 day in jail.
Ironically enough, noone knew I was on ativan (and this is just another reason I don't like drinking).

I was worried as fuck that cops had found the drugs in my jeep. Instead I go to the pound with my mom cause I wanna "look at the damage". As she's saying "OMG" I'm reaching under the driver seat pulling out bags of weed and a bottle of ativan. Slipped that shit in my coat & was like "you're right mom this could have been real bad."

Then at 19 I built a meth lab & got convicted.
My lawyer fees were $38k but my actual fines were less than $10,000. I think? I don't really don't know my fines cause 14 years later I still haven't paid them. Nothing in the home was "contaminated". I neutralized all phosphine, phosgene, hcl gas, etc. Recycled all my ether, iodine and red phosphorous. Those pussies tried to tell me they "decontaminated" my home by throwing away a few bottles of home supplies I bought from home depot. Shit like red devil lye, charcoal lighter fluid, brake fluid, salt, damp rid, etc. Red phosphorous you just burn outside. It releases nothing more toxic than coal which makes sulfur dioxide. Iodine you pour down the drain like bleach.

My point is, a fire hydrant costs $150.

Tell the prosecutor to his face to go fuck himself. Don't let the courts intimidate or scare you. UNLESS you're charged with something you're not telling us. But drinking & driving, aggravated reckless driving is not that serious a charge. I always thought you had to destroy something over $1000 to get felony aggravated reckless.... and a fire hydrant isn't $1000.

Why don't you just tell us your charges and where you live? :D

No, where do you live, BB. A fire hydrant costs $150!? Get outta' here, man! There's no way that would be less than $500. In fact, I see the replacement cost listed in Northern California is $1,000. The rest of your reply sounds like something out of 'Breaking Bad'. Oh, and lol @ aggravated reckless driving not being a serious offence.

They cost a whole lot more than $150. Usually around $1800 installed and that is the cheap ones. I have installed a lot as a real estate developer but that is really pointless. Most than likely you will not go to jail much less prison. They will tell you the max time you are looking at and they will do that to scare you into a plea. There is not a state DA in the country who wants to spend a lot of time and money on something like that. They have better things to do and limited resources.

Now the bad news. They will more than likely take your license for a little while or limit it (to driving to work) but not always. Many times if it is your first offense they will offer diversion and if you stay clean for a year they will dismiss it. If it took that long to charge you then you will prob get a reduction. If it was me I would not spend that much on a lawyer. You will get the same deal with a $5k lawyer. Unless you did more than just get drunk and have a wreck. If you hurt someone it is a little different.

I have absolutely -ZERO- respect for anyone who drives drunk/impaired for any reason at any age.

I did a lot of drugs and drinking when I was a kid, but I never stepped behind the wheel.

I can remember being high on acid and mushrooms at one point, and even in that state of mind, I was smart enough not to get behind the wheel of a car.

Seriously, screw anyone who drives drunk/impaired. With all of the people who die from drunk drivers every day even now.

OP you could have killed someone's father, mother, daughter, or son.

By no means am I disagreeing with you and I too am very against drunk driving, but he was driving a motorcycle. I'm guessing 99% of the time that someone on a motorcycle hits a car, its going to kill the person on the motorcycle and only cause damage to the car hit.

Again, in no way am I saying what he did was excusable, but I don't think him being on a motorcycle would have killed another person, only himself. I guess in the rare instance that he would hit someone on foot, but still, I dunno if that would be fatal majority of the time.

OP, I doubt anyone is going to help you after reading why you want/need the help. Your fault, your problem, figure it out on your own man, not sure what you expect us to do.

Even if he didn't kill anyone on a motorcycle. He could have killed himself. And the pain that would bring to his family is also inexcusable.

But yes, people do die from being hit by a motorcycle. Your response while polite, is short sighted. Just because he may not have killed a pedestrian doesn't mean he wouldn't have caused a wreck with another car that would have resulted in death of the car occupants, which happens all the time.
