i failed at paid traffic doing dropshipping

now i'm trying free traffic, let's see if i fail at that :)

welcome to the club.. spent $2k at the day to make back around $1.5k in sales (not including inventory lol) so lost around $1k...
basically took me $1k to realize the "youtube shopify millionaire gurus" are fucking idiots
facebook ads + shopify is EXTREMELY hard and very hard to master. is it possible? of course but dont go in with the mindset of "oh i'll just post an image and write "click to buy! click to buy!" " and people will actually buy..theres way more to it

ya it is difficult. i already have a niche in mind that i believe it can be successful, i just need the right initial burst of traffic. i was thinking in the next few weeks when i have more money i can start a fresh store around this niche and upload 30 products. make it look super professional then purchase an IG shout out in my niche. get some initial visitors to my site and then use FB ads to target the initial visitors. then build look-a-like audiences and target that. i also thought about scraping some members from facebook pages in similar niches and sending my ads to them. in my experience, using facebook ads targeting cold traffic from interest/behaviors just doesn't work... need to target custom audiences, people that already visited your site or similar to your niche and have buyer's intent

i've spent maybe $100.

and that's the problem :) Everyone is hyped by "FB Gurus" who say that it's easy to earn with FB ads

100$ is not nothing, you have to invest a lot before finding successful advert and product

Hey man, you will need optimize your facebook pixel first, i suggest you do some paid posts on instagram !

Also when I started I didn't have any money to do ads so what I did was spamming in groups and looking for some instagram influencer to give me a post for free, it took a while but it's doable, just stick into it, and also MAKE SURE YOU BUILD YOUR FACEBOOK PIXEL DATA !

facebook groups is nice traffic but for me i noticed its different some niches its easy to post but other ones admins defend the traffic. anyway im trying something in 2-3 days to see if i can bypass the admin and ill put my results here because i visualized a method of posting then editing the link after its approved and using other accs to bump it up because the groups im targeting have high amount of members some post get like 5k likes in a few hours so thats what im aiming for theres people doing automation on a high scale too but i want to make money manually before i go automation.
wow what kind of group have 5k likes per post?

You failed at PPC traffic?

How much have you spend? For how long were your campaign running? How many impressions did you receive and how many clicks did you get? Have you tried Search traffic aka Bing ads or Adwords or were you only using Facebook?

PPC is not that simple but it is the fastest way to receive traffic and if you target right you will get the right traffic.

right now i'm doing niche research to determine if my current idea is worth investing into. i am also in the process of using imacros to scrape facebook fans of people in my niche. i almost have it done, just need to tweak it a bit

Man I suggest you don't ! listen DO INSTAGRAM shoutouts it's the best way, since your facebook pixel will have high value clicks and determine your audience better !

@PBNSurprise yeah i just tried a test run i was getting tons of likes and clicks off one post then when i added my link people called me out never seen defence like this yeah ima take your advice on joining groups that dont have serious defence.

Key to success with FB groups are engagement, I Also had issues with FB groups in the past, This is what I did.

I Started engaging with users as much as possible, Get your name out, make yourself a worthy member of the group.
Dont sell outright, Just ask for reviews, opinions and Suggestions for improvements.
Build healthy relationships with Admins.
Do promotions, some admins will promote your product for a small cut.

It will take frustrating few weeks.
But you will start getting steady sales.

Remember Your first 100 customers are the bread and butter of your store.

I switched niches anyway my niche it had potential but the defence was fucking real like i posted in 20 groups 10 links were active and all of them got called out by one member and after that the others see and comment spam then admins deleted it an hour later so i decided that people on facebook either are not in buyer mode at all, or that my approach was wrong which i think it was but to build a relationship with admins and contribute sucks id rather just go and post clickbait and sprinkle cpa i tried clickbank got a few hops but barely got 100 views so my approach was wrong but the defence was serious so i think the only way was your suggestion to contribute and build relationships but i aint that patient lol i like the twist about asking for reviews, opinons, or suggestions because thats what makes them engage a while back i asked for an opinion on one of my sites and got like 1k UV in a small group still no sales i just think clickbank and facebook groups dont work or im just doing it wrong which im probably am. anyway i found a better niche which i think has 100x more potential im going to tap into i already setitng up my site this time i know it will work though i wasnt 100 percent confident in my latest test.

have you considered IG shout outs? thats what im thinking about doing.

launch a fresh site, upload 30 products, make it look super professional. get some IG shout outs from accounts in my niche. hopefully that will give me an initial burst of traffic. then i make ads and target the people that already visited my site

i also am scraping facebook fans that my competitor's have and i plan to make custom audiences to target these people. finally got the scraping fired up and it's running right now extracting a dozen users every 30 seconds

Shout outs are not a consistent form of a sales channel. If you crack the code Facebook is; Come up with an attractive promotion and attached it to shout-out. Another Good source of traffic that did work for me is Outbrain.

lol 100$ on fb ads is a joke. pixel wont get the data you need with 100$l. There is no such as failing on fb ads, the more data that pixel gets the more stuff you can do with it, so i dont look it as failing, i look it as data investment. But yes you still need to know what to do with data you get from pixel.

Have you tried out infographics as a sort-of makeshift pre-sell advertisement? They could be posted in facebook groups without being seen as too spammy.
