I don't understand social bookmarks

Hey everyone,

it's a little embarrassing but I am having trouble to understand social bookmarking thing. I saw some lists - Digg, StumbleUpon, Technorati... That is clear. Then I saw a video on spinning anchors for social bookmarks. But I thought you don't get to choose your anchors on these sites, your page title is your anchor. What am I missing?

Spinners are for bulk bookmarking tools for platforms like pligg and phpdug.

You can choose your anchors in these sites. By default , they pick your title as your anchor but you can always change it.

Some will use your site title but for others you can provide your own title, which is where the spinning is involved. BTW, there isn't really much point in submitting to Digg any more..

Some site's automatically use your site's title but you can edit and place your anchor text.
