I don't know where to start... YT newbie lost

I am a big YT watcher myself, for years. I love the platform. 4 weeks a go I started uploading videos for the first time on self development and feminine energy. I did a lot of pre research and I find my quality pretty good, T&T, sound, edit, content, SEO, Keywords. I mean I love watching my videos myself... The impressions I get are very low.... the CTR is around 3% .... videos hit an average of 500 views.... WORST OF ALL: my video is being suggested on the most random search topics ever!!! I'm lost... I have 500 questions in my head... Should I buy followers, should I use SMM, which one, should I use blackhat SEO, should I buy a channel, OR IS THERE EVEN A SECRET NOBODY IS TELLING ME.... I'm sorry for being dramatic hahah, but I'm also not very smart with these digital strategies and terms on this site... very overwhelming... Can someone please tell me where to start? beside the obv YT advise of making good content, T&T and SEO... which I am trying my best...

There are no blackhat strategies which could be used for your content. You also dont need to focus on keywords and SEO.
Self-development is one of the most popular niches on YouTube. If you don’t stand out, you’ll have a hard time consistently reaching even 100 views.
Dont make it more complex than it actually is. If your content is good and in demand you will get views.
Also, don’t waste time hoping to get useful advice on this forum. Everyone here is in the same position as you struggling to get views but they still love to give obvious advice

To be completely honest. If you’re only been doing this for 4 weeks and you’re already averaging 500 views per video there is only one thing to keep doing:

Keep going.

Put your head down and work. You’re entering one of the most competitive spaces online and it’s not for the faint hearted.

Consistency is key. Don’t expect fast results. Just keep going and you will make progress.
 
Youtube is a difficult beast to conquer. It takes alot of patience and effort for Youtube to start sending you more organic impressions. When I first started my account I used to only get between 10 and 15 impressions on every video I published. Consistency is key here. You need to keep posting and slowly they start sending you more and more, but it is a very slow process. Remember to post a mix of Shorts and long form videos. There is simply no magic wand that you can use to get get more organic impressions. The Youtube AG is self learning and extremely sensitive. Never send it bot impressions as it will shadow ban you before you can sneeze.

Good luck with your journey. Just keep doing what you are doing and do it well.
 
Don't buy fake followers and artificial stuff to supposedly boost your metrics, focus in improving the quality of your videos, making better thumbnails to enhance this low CTR and try to make your descriptions better, since YouTube is struggling to identify your niche and best keywords

Thank you so much for your advice! Means a lot to me! If you don't mind, what is your opinion on mixing long form and short form on YT as many say to not do it as these to content formats have different audiences and this could backfire as in your followers from short form not engaging with your long form?

Thank you so much! I def need to double down on making YT better understand who my target audience is as I see in the analytics it does not reflect the right target audience...

Well the thing its with youtube you need good patience and you need to be consistent no matter what
Also i think you ahould not only depend on just youtube to get an income as it will take some time ,maybe conbine it with instagram ,bloging etc
 
The advice about consistency is valid, but if you consistently post content that nobody wants to see, the outcome will remain the same. I also highly disagree about the "difficulty" to make money on Youtube. I post the worst kind of videos in term of quality. Absolute dog shit ai content which every one can create in a few minutes. But I guess money isn't your only motivation here. You want to be more like a typical YouTuber, building a brand, sharing your story, and connecting with your audience. In that case, it's much more challenging
 
Buying subscribers is one of the worst things you can do if you value your channel.

It's great for black hat churn and burn strategies for social proof purposes.

But if it's a channel you wanna keep around for the long haul then don't do it.

They're dead subs.

The algorithms hate that.

Imagine YouTube showing your video to dead subs who won't even count as impressions.

That's not a positive sign is it.

You should read The YouTube Formula.

It's an amazing book on how the algo works.
 
Increase your reach first.... Try promoting your best videos in YouTube Ads and other social media channels. The algorithm is not breaking the resistance of the next circle of the audience. Your audience must watch a longer if not full video. They must like or comment or share the video to break the resistance.

hi, I would appreciate if you could elaborate some more on how you mention that there is no difficulty in making money on YT even with low quality videos but than you face the challenge that nobody wants to watch that? As I didn't get this part... In my case yes I do indeed aim to build more of a personal brand, but ofc the financial part is needs to be there.. at the end of the day nobody wants to put in work, time and effort in something that will never give you returns...

Yes thanks for this advice, I will indeed go into that route of combining it with other social media platforms

Hi,

The only secret is the obvious advise that is make good content, however what is good content? We will try to explain to your briefly without making it too boring, so here goes.

1- if your ctr is low it just means youtube has tested out your video with viewers and it seems like people are less interested to click on your thumbnail. Thumbnails are basically the first impression of your video, if that isnt going to be clicked, then doesnt matter how good your video editing is. How can you make your thumbnails more interesting? easiest way is to check your competitors who bag in millions of views or atleast a high amount of views, and simply copy that pattern, tips- make sure to add big texts/ words related to the video, for example if it is a "how to make money" niche, add words like " 10 MILLION IN 1 DAY", "$10-$10000 in 12 HOURS" etc. so basically increase your CTRs!

2- Once you have got the thumbnail part ready, focus on the video editing, there is a rule to keep viewers engaged and that is basically the first point that is "the hook', your first few seconds to a minute of your video should be exciting with good transitions, story telling...dont fully reveal what your going to show in the video, just show interesting bits and then cut it off and tell viewers to "stick till the end of the video to see what happens", this adds curiosity to the viewers and they will hold on to the video for quite a while. once you increase retention, youtube automatically suggests your videos to new audiences

3- SEO is important, you can use tools like rapid tags etc to help you with that or just simply right click on the video page of one of your competitor's video and check page source, you get to see the tags they have used and copy paste those. or easier way, you can use tubebuddy to see their tags.

Note-

Promotions also help, however when you select an smm panel, make sure they are reliable and have good services, we have helped tons of clients with boosting their youtube and other social media pages so yes, smm works to push your channels to the algo.

hey,the main point I was trying to make is that the type of content matters far more than the effort or quality you put into it. if your content is not interesting or in demand, no amount of effort or high production will get you views.

on the flip side, even low quality videos can perform well if the content itself is for whatever reason in trend or fulfills a demand. tons of niches or trends don’t require amazing visuals or storytelling. but that's a different YouTube business model from the one you're trying to get into.

anyways, best of luck! the beginning is tough either way. I’d recommend checking out the YouTube journeys shared on this forum. they were a big help to me when I was starting out
