www.saltbuck.com

I have my domain listed for sale and I have no idea what to charge. Someone contacted me this morning saying that they wanted to buy it. It is #4 on the SERP and it doesn't have any organic SEO so I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to get it to #1. I am working on other projects now and don't mind selling it, though I have an idea for what I want to do with it, but that will take a lot of my time as the site idea is quite large.

Any suggestions? I have never sold a domain before.

thanks

hahah yeah makes sense.
Yeah it's not a bad domain name. I have a really good idea for it but it's further on my todo list. I appreciate the reply.

Not sure if I'm missing something with the wording, but it's worthless IMO.

If someone wants to buy it, see what they want to offer. Then double whatever number they come back with and settle somewhere in the middle.

It means $10, but maybe that is a chicago/midwest thing. Not sure. It was always common knowlege to me.

I like your idea about doubling and meeting half way. Seems like a good method. thank you.

Yeah, doesn't mean anything to me being from the UK, so you probably have a limited market there.

We use to call it a "Sawbuck" to mean $10 in Virginia. "Saltbuck" is the new "Sawbuck"..For the trivia fans out there...each pack of salt has 10 calories in it :)

So it's basicly a potential local Fiverr ?

Sell it as such.

is a difficult question and I think that it hasn't an answer... the better ones are already being said... trying to guess how much it cost for the buying part...

It's the same thing. The way we pronounce it is sawbuck too but that's just because people don't pronounce it right and you usually don't see it in writing, it's more of a verbal slang thing.

I was able to get it to #1 in Google. Hopefully it adds some value.

That adds zero value. I'd say it's just worth what you paid for registration so try to sell it to the guy who contacted you. Good luck.

no pr, no backlinks, no serp,
unless its something like business.com, its worth nothing I am afraid.

Yea, thats true, adds 0, so dont get your hopes up, but good luck!

thanks everyone. It was the guy's nickname. He offered me a facebook share. I have some plans for it so i'll hold on or worst case senerio contact everyone with that nickname that I can and auction it to whoever is interested. I appreciate the help!

He offered u a FB share? No $$ offered?

Yeah. He said he was broke and offered to buy me a fb share. I figure that would be like $40 on a good day so I declined. That isn't worth it to me to sell. I could probably find someone else interested in the domain name and get more than that for it.
