I dissapeared from Google

Panic !

I was ranking for various keywords last week. Nothing major, but they were there.

Then I continued doing it.

Then all these links dissapeared. So my question is...

1/ Is there really THAT much content that means you have to continually fight for placement of a keyword that is not competative?
2/ Is there a tool in the GET section here that can show which keywords I am ranking for?
3/ I created a link wheel for a non competative keyword and NONE of the PR8 links are showing in google. Might this be that I have been banned by G
4/ When typing Links:myurl into google I can see the results and a few of my links but NONE of my web 2.0 entries and external links bar one or two.

I first notice this when my organic numbers dropped by 90% in analytics...

Any ideas?

Is it a brand new website? Sometimes google gives new websites some sort of "boost" that wont last long.

1. Yes, you have to keep promoting your website.
2. Use an analitics program to see what keywords are bringing visitors to your website.
3. if you dont promote your squidoo or other web2.0 pages with bookmarks it can take some time for google to find them.
4. 95% of your backlinks wont showup with google's "link:" command. Use yahoo site explorer or a program like SEO Elite to check your backlinks.
 
when you say bookmarks... i thought that these 2.0 props stand on their own... what do you mean?

For example

1. Scribd you just load up and your ranked.

2. Propeller does the same using a nod to my actual blog

3. My actual blog on the target site ranks or did and now does not.

Can you give me an example what you mean...?

I thought bookmark was something like say stumble or digg, but the content needs to be on there...

Sometimes I use pingomatic if I submit to say Vox or something

That depends on how is google crawling your website, high PR and periodic posting (like daily unique content posting) will let google crawl your site rapidly.

Use Google Analytics + Google Webmaster Central, and a SEO software (SEOElite/ WebCEO ...) . That will help you: to know visitors issues, keywords analytics, site crawling (sitemap/robot.txt/pages...), indexing problems, backlings changes, ranking positions .... etc.
 
whats the best tool then would you say for

1. seeing how keywords you rank for?
 
You were probably sandboxed. It happens to mostly new sites after they link build and get a boost from google. Then they are POOFED out of the rankings to page 100+.

If this did happen only thing you can do is wait it out and continue to link build. There are ways to get out of the sandbox but i dont know them. I know DP(eww) has a section dedicated to the sandbox and im sure you could search for a few threads here on it.

G will sandbox you if your linkwheel develops too quickly. You'll appear again eventually. This happens to 50% of my sites. Most reappear in 1 week or so. Others may take up to 3 months.
 
Yea one time a new site of mine got digg'd front page and got a ton of backlinks and I got sandboxed for like a week.
 
Same thing happened to me recently. I was moving up the ranks for a new site for a keyword I was targetting. Found my site on page 18, then moved up to page 8, and kept getting backlinks, then it just disappeared. I could only find it by typing the URL exactly into google.

Hopefully it will come back soon...but in the mean time I'm just going to build a new site and hope for better luck. First time this has happened to me...also the first time I used a link wheel to try and boost my ranking.
 
It just happened yesterday to one of my sites also. That site is 4 days old and I have been building backlinks for it. It was ranking in the top 10 searches for the keyword for 3 days, even though the ranking is up and down a bit. And then BAM...gone baby gone. I was back from a short fishing trip last night and when I was back, I couldn't see my page appear any more. I think I will wait for around 1 week to see if it's coming up.
 
Thats a quick time though it could take longer than a week. I think they have actual people reviewing whether you are being fraudulent in SEO or not. (Think about it, 1 person could review hundreds, potentially thousands of sites a day! Imagine a team devoted to it, google has a ton of employees)

Just a theory, their googlebot and indexing bots are good at tracking most blackhat things

shit , like what

i am only doing twitter....blog posting maybe 20 a day and link wheels.
 
You seem sandboxed to me. Too many PR8 links too fast may raise the red flag. Try linking from new spots [new link wheel] and you MAY get back on similar position.
I came back few times. Few times i got so banned that now domains are just metarefreshes.
 
Hey you guys I'm so happy. Eventually my site is back, my baby is back. I just didn't do anything and forgot about it for a few days and miraculously it showed up, its page rank is still the same. But I don't care, I'm just so glad it's back. How's your site going now?
 
My site went in sandbox 3 times. But It's not new website. It's 2 years ago then got into sandbox.
in the First time, It stay in sandbox for 12 Days. when It get out of sandbox Then after 2 weeks my site got into sandbox again.
Second time sandbox take 15 days to get out.
then 3 days ago, My site get in sandbox again. It's Today!

My site has PR3.

Oh my god.
