Hi guys,

Im fresher in SEO, But i want some guidance,

So i jumped to second page from fifth just by no following affiliate link(I know now affiliate link has to be no-follow ) and re-crawling it. So my question is having affiliate links do-follow a hindrance in ranking high?

recently lots of fluctuation going on in Google already...

just nofollowing a link wont give you 3 pages jump
it could be be any other reason as well

it could. when hacker made links to shady websites my rank went lot pages down then came back when i removed them

Like other posters, I would attribute this to something else that you've done. If no following affiliate links had that kind of impact, everyone would be doing it and then Google would respond with an algo rule that would normalize things once again. In short, the no follow attribute is not likely to have been the reason for the change.

I don't think this drop have anything to do with you changing link to nofollow. Give it sometime.

Highly unlikely it's related.

Your site probably just got out of sand-box or something.

May be it was just a co-incidence your ranks keep fluctuating every day.

Giving Do Follow links to inferior websites is not a good idea because you leak link juice. It sounds like a coincidence in this case but don't make DF links on your website a habit. You did a good job by no following it and you should do that in the future as well.
