I can't get any sales.

Hi guys, i've been looking at getting into dropshipping for a while after seeing so much about it on youtube, reddit and forums like this so once i have saved up enough money (about $400 AUD) and what i thought (at the time) was adequate enough research i found a product(jewelry) that seemed decent to me and made a one product store around it.

Against some of the advice i saw and was given i started with facebook ads where i sank about $80~ in 3 days that got me about 200 sessions on my store and some engagement on my facebook page and some checkout initiations, i realized i was making a mistake and decided to stop the facebook ads and spent about a day or 2 improving the site and implementing some advice i was given (such as shipping price, time and etc).

I decided to do some ads on instagram pages and a campaign on facebook with a lower budget, again i got no sales and just a few more sessions and etc, feeling pretty defeated but knowing atleast i learnt something i looked into finding other stuff to sell.

After a conversation with a friend i found some political products (specifically trump) that i could try selling so again i made a store but this time with multiple products but mostly advertising 1 product that seemed unique enough for people to buy it, this time i decided to go with advertising on instagram first so i paid around $45 USD to advertise on 4 pages and this time i got even worse numbers with only 20 sessions as of right now so im wondering should i try posting some ads on facebook with the pixel audience i got from the few sessions, or should i ditch this product?

I would love some advice and guidance since again im pretty new to this and i don't exactly have much money to spend on this and sorry about the wall of text.

I mean its not a failure, you spent $125, thats not a lot at all, and youre learning, so far youve spent $125 to learn a decent amount, that is how i look at it.
If I ever opened up a store, Id plan to sink a decent amount into it learning if I were going with paid ads, which is needed of course. Itd be nice to spend $200 and come back positive with sales but highly unlikely unless someone else is doing the ads for you.

two words, sales funnel. I have never been part of a successful ecommerce project that did not use sales funnel.

I definitely agree that i learnt alot from the first store especially with facebook, but this time around apart from the ads im not entirely too sure what im doing "wrong" per say, i know what i can improve on such as the product descriptions and perhaps my social media presence which i will work on.

And as for money i don't have too much to spend as i work a pretty shit job where i get paid below min wage and i also have things to pay/save up for, so i hope you can understand where i am coming from when i dont want to put all my money into this.

Flex target your audience 3 levels or deeper
Have a unique product they really want without your audience. Can't sell a boring t-shirt to people who like "t-shirts" on FB and think you'll have a positive ROI. Or a random piece of jewelry they've seen 100 times before.
Good ad copy/images etc - Split test until you get an awesome CTR

The problem with FB Ads is simple. You need a shitload of $$ to test.

$45 on a test may not be enough to truly test a market/ creative/ copy.

this is what my audience looks like for one of my adsets gfycat dot com /GiddyPaltryFish

while the product isnt too unique its not really anything too unique its not available on the big/official trump stores and i couldnt find anyone running ads right now on the fb ad library

looking back on the instagram ads they definitely could've used more work im no marketer or have any experience on that sorts i looked around on other similar pages advertising trump shit and tried somewhat imitate them

im assuming jv means joint venture and if so not too sure where i can find someone else to work with since none of my irl friends and family are really interested or know about ecommerce

right now i got enough to run 3 adsets each on a $10(AUD) daily budget with different creatives for about 2 days before i get paid and then on ill be able to either increase the budget or test with different adsets/creatives.

though im unsure if that'll be enough to get any results actual results.

In my personal opinion, this is where you made the mistake. Start with the audience, not the product. Pick target market (best if its one you know/a community you're part of) -> analyse -> you'll find the product/service they need

Not the other way around.

Yeah that's how i came up with selling trump products that derived from a conversation with a friend and just all that's been happening surrounding him and his presidency.

I haven't really had a chance to get an outsider's opinion, but i did ask a few friends and they said it looked fine but not entirely sure if they were just being nice.

I wouldn´t spend a penny on ads before i have optimized my website for conversions. U need to make sure that the website looks legit and trustworthy. U can spend 10k on ads without sales when your website looks s**t. Im 99% sure you made simple website and uploaded products and waiting for sales. To get sales u need to know how to convert the visitors into buyers. Right colors, right words, less clicks to buy items, correct images cause when person comes to your shop it takes only few seconds to decide if it looks legit or not. Add fake reviews with "verified sales", add some countdown for prices (like this price only for next 7h) and so on.

yeah i see what you mean, i guess its sort of difficult for me to judge the believably or trustworthy-ness of the store since i was the one who made it, to me it looks good enough where i would purchase something but im not entirely sure about anyone else apart from the word from some friends. If you have the patience or the time to go through the site and provide me with criticism its truepatriotshop dot net

though im not entirely sure if i want to continue with this store either considering it seems like i wont be able to post facebook ads with it.

Its really risky niche, some like Trump and some (even most) don´t like. So its nightmare for targeting people. Lack of items and missing good images (only angry Trump image) to make the site look more legit. I wouldn´t dare to invest money in it unless u have Trump supporters email list and know-how to use it. For me it seems the site is 25-30% finished.

My best advice... Look at another company selling something similar. Look at them enough to start seeing their ads. Use their ads as inspiration for your own ads. Make sure your pricing is market competitive.
