I've written a bunch of aticles over the year on my website and get around 800 visits per day. But I've run out of ideas now and am having a hard time coming up with new keywords :(

Spend the last few days searching on ahrefs and semrush and seems like every keyword already has 10 articles written about it, I mainly write gaming and mobile app related articles but I'm open to all technology. It's not a passion project but more about getting traffic, so idc if it's software drivers or hacking or anything. Just can't find anything to write about...

Any help/advice appreciated, I really need it.

That should not stop you write about that keyword. You just try to add some information to your style.
I'm open to all technology
You can find tons of resources for this niche. Subscribe to many newsletters related to this niche. You will get an idea.
Just can't find anything to write
You can find if you are not lazy to search.

Check with websites similar to yours and check what they write about, you might get some spark.

Use SEMrush keyword Gap analysis tool.

Insert your domain on the "Domain Overview Bar"

Look for competitors doing better on SERP than you with the "Competitor tab"

Copy as many competitors as you can to have them compared/audited with your domain;

NB: You can also skip step two since Keyword gap tool autogenerates your close competitors.

Export Top opportunities/Missing keywords for further keyword competitive research.

Hi, I might give you some ideas as well as some low competition keywords. Hit me up with your website, if interested. It’s free.

If you are trying to write about keywords that no one has covered yet, try writing about upcoming tech or launches. For example, you can collect rumors and write about Apple's next project.

Since technology is rather competitive and dense market, almost all the current keywords and topics would have been covered by magazines & blogs.

If you can't find anything, just analyze your competition and find the keywords with least difficulty. That's how everyone else is thriving nowadays.

I think you have to use those keywords even someone other is also using that. Use Semrush tool and do analysis of keywords again and again with competitors.

Maybe try finding newer trends and products. They shouldnt have that much competition for them.

Such a bonus tip.

So gaming and tech and have nothing to say? It's one of the quickest to change / adapt and develop industries and you have no ideas? lol...

I would start writing about your own thoughts on gaming if your trying to be the next review site you got a ton of work and it's going to be a battle.

IF you want to chase traffic and struggling to write anything decent then I would do something like:

1. Search for upcoming games on all platforms 6-12 months time (go broad if you are not platform or genre specific)

2. Start creating posts about that game. Add in demo videos, talks about, any graphics or leaked info etc even create your own video to link back to it.

3. Put your predicated launch date i.e if it's fall 2021 say you think it will be 18th October. Add to the post other information like that so you can start going after long tails and keep updating the post with latest / updated info so you can have a bunch of long tails like:

XYZ Game Title Launch Date
XYZ Game Title Predicated Launch Date
XYZ Game Title Review
XYZ Game Title Thoughts
XYZ Game Title Playthrough
XYZ Game Title Video
XYZ Game Title Demo
XYZ Game Title Trailer
XYZ Game Title Slideshow
XYZ Game Title Screenshots

All in the one post as titles so your content is structured and formatted.

Would be a ton of work but it gets you ranking before others have and hopefully builds up a bit of authority for you so when you are updating the post on a regular basis as these keywords or long tails become popular you have the page all up to date with archived and relevant info pushing you a step ahead others.

No quick fixes only long term solutions.

Check your competitors sites and see what they have written recently. Then find which one seems interesting to you. And write something more about it that your competitor missed to share. You must have your own way of storytelling skill, so that will help you to be engaged with your readers

Holy Fuck guys, thanks for all the amazing responses. It seems there are two things that stand out:

* competitor research
* trending topics

I honestly have looked into both, but clearly not hard enough. Could not find with keywords with high search volume (1000+) and low keyword difficulty. However I will keep pushing in this method as is it seems to work for the rest of you. I have had some success with just putting a tech term like "Skype" on keyword generators and finding long tails related to it. Hopefully between these three methods I'll be able to find some nice stuff.

Again, thanks for brainstorming with me!

You are doing it wrong by the sounds of it!

You don't need 1000+ volume with low difficulty you want 100-400ish with "low difficulty"

If you get page 1 for 30 x 100 low difficulty search keywords that's giving you 3000 a month there.
