I went to Google and did a search on "car insurance", without quotes.

I see this website ranking #13 and it has only 17 crappy backlinks. Open Explorer doesn't list any, but backlink watch lists 17.

How in the hell did he outrank big corporation insurance companies?

Obviously, this ranking won't stick. I'm sure seomoz's little serp snitch group has already reported it. In the meantime, this guy has to be raking in mad cash.

Hi Ryan, just because you can only see 17 crappy links that does not mean they don't have any high quality backlinks.

It is very easy to block opensiteexplorer and the benefit is that people like you that check other people's links can't be found and report them to google.

Keywords such as car insurance is highly monetisable therefore worth manipulating google even if it's for a short time.

Quit using open site explorer, its like you are hugging on Rands nuts.

If you check the site on ahrefs you see 10k backlinks.

All bots can be blocked. You can set robots.txt to block all bots. You can then set a different version of robots.txt to display to the google ip's which allows all bots, this way everything looks normal to google and looks normal to noisy people that check robots.txt.

That's just a 301 redirect from an older domain ! it won't last more than 2 weeks .

It seems they are using some link network like TNX as well, tons of randomly placed links from Russian sites.

Probably a 301 redirect. Question is will this domain keep its position 2-3 weeks down the line.

Just checked their backlinks and found 5 more sites, all of their sites are ranking high for good keyword. Here is one of them www.insurquotesforfree.com/ ranking 4 for auto insurance quotes.

Delete the url why the f*ck do people post urls, you're outing the guy, delete it.Google is all over this place and you post someones url, yeah, cool,G will read this and act aoccrdingly. If you can't figure things like this out, learn, don't blatantly post urls. The guy is making coin and you've probably severely numbered his days, smart move...not.

Usually most bhw peeps won't out a site. But then you run across the occasional idiot that likes to post it on a forum.... hint hint. Just giving the public eye easy things to patch with an update moron.

It's funny that people often forget that public forums are public... (and when I say funny I mean careless & silly)

It's not gonna take long until that site will get a manual penalty.

What site are we talking about? Was the 301 from a relative domain?

For your information, I wasn't "ousting" the site.

I was amazed and wanted to know how they managed to do it, with a new that wasn't even 2 months or so old.
