You need to send a text message. WeChat is more strict than QQ, and QQ is relatively simple
 
we chat is annoying af, get banned for adding too many people bruh
 
If you want to use QQ or WeChat for advertising it's made really difficult for foreigners that are not from China do advertise and I personally experienced a lot of issues with WeChat. You have to have chinese number attached to the account and you need to access the account from a Chinese IP and make sure it's really chinese, if it's Taiwan for example it won't work you will get banned.
 
You can write to technical support on WeChat. Say that there is no way to scan the QR code. And you are from another country. And they will give you access
 
QQ sign-ups often fail due to suspicious phone numbers or IPs — use a real mobile number and a stable network (4G/5G, no VPN).

Try registering during off-peak hours (early morning or late night) and make sure your number format is correct and can receive SMS.

If it still doesn’t work, use a number from someone who has already used QQ/WeChat — higher success rate.
