I came across a huge e-mail list no one else has!

Hello guys, first post here!

So as the title suggest I got an e-mail list, that is pretty big and want to monetize on it.
I know a couple of facts for all the people in that e-mail list!
1.All of them are from the USA and online buyers.
2.All of them are from a similar profession.
3.The thrash rate of those e-mails is probably less than 10%

Now I wanted to start with Affiliate marketing, but when I started digging I found out that obviously you can't just spam those mfkas before they give you permission. I'm starting to think to just send them a couple of "warm up e-mails" with free info and stuff and promp them to opt-in, but I'm not sure if the conversion rate will be as good and seeing that I received this great oportunity, I want to make the most of it.
Also I've been thinking of selling that e-mail list, but alas I have no idea how to do that, though I'm sure if someone is interested they will give me the big bucks.

My question is, if you had a list of around 100k people, all from the same industry, country and similar age group (25-40), what would you do to make money off that?

Did you purchaed the list or downloaded? It will not have any value if you downloaded from public websites.

I cannot really tell you where I got the list, obviously for the sake of discussion I would like you to accept that it's a 100% legit list, I did not buy, I got it from... somewhere!
And as I said nobody else has this list and I'm a 100% sure of that.

There are many such lost a shares even here on BHW but I doubt that mailing those people will give fruitful results.

The fact that you got it from somewhere means someone else has it. These kind of list typically have little value until you clean them and prove they are responsive

My thoughts exactly!

I would start by sending them to my own opt-in list and start from there. That way you would make sure they are interested in the topic of your subsequent email series.

Another way is to just go Blackhat and mass spam the hell out of them for profit.

Testing if list is responsive should be your first goal imo.

I dunno if you are here to just sell the list (it's against the rules), but if not:

If the list contains 100k people within the dentist profession, then I would start a dentist website. A site that it's obvious that it's a dentist site by just looking at the URL, example dentistjoe.com.

Then I would fill that site with loads of articles about dentist stuff, but informative and affiliate offers. I would make everything look very neat and professional.

After that I would start sending emails to this list from [email protected], advertising both affiliate offers - but also connecting them with the website.

If the list is as golden as you say it is, I wouldn't just start pooping out random emails. I want them to think "hmm, I don't remember subscribing to this. But it is about being dentist and the website looks very informative. Probably something I subbed to before. I'll check it out" - and then they will open the next email and the next.

If it's just a random email from [email protected] about a "Great dentist offer!!!" - then you probably won't earn much and you will ruin the list.

I would try to get as much as possible out of it.

I've never dabbled with email lists, but I do manage websites. So my approach might be biased.

If you got the list done and compiled already and you haven't actually scrapped emails and made the list by yourself, simply indicates that someone has actually used the list and drained it enough to be not worthwhile/profitable anymore.

Anyway, the least you could do is run some test emails and see if they're interested in your product, if they interact with your emails or the mail is simply going to their spam.

Email marketing is difficult as there are a lot of issues. When you said a huge list, I was thinking of a much bigger number. As a matter of fact, I too had 6M list in fashion niche with purchase history, but just spamming them with offers won't bring much returns. The best option is to convert as many of them as you could into your opt-in list, and then start promoting your products.
