I bought too many AI tools, then checked what Reddit really thinks

Mini confession: I’m pretty new to this game and I totally did the “panic buy AI tools” thing.
One AI writer for blogs, one for ads, one “AI SEO” thing, one “agent”, plus ChatGPT on top.
My browser looked pro, my numbers… didn’t move.
Boss kept asking: “Which one of these is actually making money?”
I honestly had no idea.
So instead of reading more landing pages, I went to Reddit and started watching what other marketers were saying about these tools.
Same three themes over and over:
  1. People feel like AI stack managers, not marketers.
  2. Content is okay, but traffic/leads don’t really change.
  3. Everyone’s tired of pricey subs + credit limits.
That actually made me feel better – it wasn’t just me using them “wrong”.
Now I’m trying to keep the stack tiny and only pay for stuff I can explain in one sentence:
“This helps me make/save $X by doing Y.”
If anyone’s curious I can share the quick notes I made from the Reddit threads.
Also legit question for the vets here:How do you decide when a tool deserves to stay, instead of just becoming another shiny subscription?

A tool may stay if I find it worth the price it's going for.
For example adobe firefly, it does not make me money, but it's pretty dope.

Oh the irony.
