I bought a PR8 link and didn't do sh!T

well Gyuman82 made a really good comment and said that maybe the site itself got flagged and that is why the links are worthless.

I wish I could delay the payment but its via PP so its automatic you know.

So it looks like you are also saying to scrap it as well.

Thank you very much, I appreciate the help!!

In my opinion, get a refund by hook or crook... none of the other backlinks on the home page (only 8 visible, and 5 inside a hidden DIV) are doing well... 9 of those are still PR: n/a... AND of course, they must be there for a much longer period than yours imho :)

You'll not see much difference even after another 2 months, imo, and you'll be needlessly paying that monthly subscription. I would get a refund (by hook or crook) now if I were in your shoes. :D

such a bummer I was hoping to get a huge serp increase but nothing...

damn :(

You know, when I hear that "authority"site is selling footer links....Do you really think authority site (such as CNN, Yahoo, SEJ, DrOZ etc etc) have to sell footer links? And do you really think that they would be called authority if they were selling footer links? Ask yourself, and you will know the answer to the question in your OP

i didn't say it was an authority site? authority or not because of it's high PR & DA i was pretty sure I would get a serp bump but alas, nothing. Kind of confusing really because I thought it would work. This was the first time i've done something like this because usually i've only focused on contextual links and not footer or sitewide links for ranking my site.

Know that he is from a country that is on the sanctions list?

You can't deal with those people who could have support from authorities who would do anything for selected few and help them achieve high PR sites. Those countries can do anything and get away with that. He could be a relative or something of somebody who is in high place... you know those people... getting a refund would be next to impossible because of that background. He could vanish without a trace. Whatever... Get back to proper channels and begin afresh. :)

BTW, many (at least 4 or 5) of those 13 sites on his Home page are his own...

The makers of the very high-profile e-product (software/application) services he deals in on his site could stop associating with him any moment; possibly it has already taken place. They can't definitely be exempted from the strict sanction regulations, imho. Well, he could be a good honest man, but still the country background spoils everything for him, and I, personally of course, don't see any end to it in the next 10 years at least.

Actually i bought them from a link seller on the wickedfire. Apparently very reputable... A little searching and youll find see...

I wont ask for a refund ill just take it as a learning experience....

Yeah... always try to get the overall background when you're doubtful and where high recurring costs are involved.

There are better providers on BHW who can help you. :)

Good Luck!

High reputation means absolutely nothing on the net. You got to take all precautions. They can be great friends but real businesses don't depend on just a reputation score.

A Humble Reminder:
If you have made up your mind, then stop that recurring PP withdrawals.:) Decide 100% first though. Did you say it's due tomorrow???

You probably bought a fake PR guest post. I'd recommend cancelling if the kw you targeted is anywhere below very competitive.

Hey! When buying an expired domain/website how do you check for a REAL PR?
How do you know if it's fake or not? I want to buy some domains with
established PR but I hesitate due to this usual issue. I checked one
of the domains with archive.org though and it seemed to be quite
an authorative website a few years ago with many outgoing
links and decent articles.

What do YOU and OTHERS think?

@KeepOnRocking,

Why KeepOnBumping 3 times in one post? lol
You buying an expired domain name has got nothing to do with OP's genuine problem. Get a new thread for your own.

The OP said that some inner pages have a PR 7. If that's the case, it is very unlikely that the PR 8 is fake.

Instead of getting links on pages with high PR, look for relevant pages. That will do more to improve your ranks then links on unrelated high PR pages. Done properly it will also stand up to a human review too.

Sorry, might have missed it but how much are you paying for this link per month ?

Ive canceled. A month and no movement is strange and hope to find something better. Thanks for the advice guys!!

If it didn't do shit that means it did good.

Some of these backlink providers never follow through. You can buy multiple PR backlinks.. Check around. There are some good quality people out there that come through,.

Sent me a pm with the link and where did you bought this from an individual or a company and how much did you pay?

If domain has internal pages as PR7 then its clearly an original PR8.
only spam = site fucked
spam + authority = life long ranking unless manual inspection happens.
Dont remove the link. that would be idiot for sure. Do more links... Spend more money on links.. U can buy average quality links (if u can differentiate average quality with spam quality) and u should be fine.
Your site has a lot of authority atm... Just send some links....
