I bought a PR8 link and didn't do sh!T

So a few weeks ago I asked a question about this. Seemed like it was a good idea, so I bought the PR8 and it was site wide so other pages were PR7 and such. DA is 88 and it's been a month (well 2 days short of a month) and my serps hasn't increased not even one place. Just to mention the link isn't in my niche or related to my site at all...

Should I cancel this monthly subscription or should I wait it out?

Does anybody have any other experiences?

You probably bought a fake PR guest post. I'd recommend cancelling if the kw you targeted is anywhere below very competitive.
 
Agree with Chintoo, it was fake PR, it's pretty common in the SEO game.
People will try to make money, as they can. Cancel it and move on, karma will hit him hard someday.
 
It wasn't a guest post but a footer link that was site wide. Ahrefs lists the domain as 99.992 and it has over 200k backlinks. So I doubt it was fake'd PR

I'm just puzzled on why my serps didn't increase :(
 
So you are depending on 1PR8 links and many PR7 with same domain link?

Tell me more about your link profiles.

Name the site and you'll get all the information in a short while. Looks like you rented a fake or a PR8 no-f0ll0w backlink...

Whatever, we can only check if the site is named.

thanks for the advice guys, maybe it is a bad site...

my link profile? because of panda/penguin my main anchor text is only 11% of total. So I've done a lot of hard work to mix up my anchor text.

Anyways I don't feel good posting the link here publicly but I am willing to PM it to someone only if they promise to check to see if its a fake PR not...

Any takers?
 
so with all the people saying its either fake or I need to move on then definitely having a PR8 link and not having your serps move within a month is a bad sign :(

the guy I bought the link from said it sometimes takes 3 months before I see any real movement thats why its on a monthly subscription based model...
 
Sounds like the guys trying to milk you for as long as he can. If it was a real PR 8 site, you should see changes as fast as maybe even the first day. 1 weeks tops!
 
Yes, PM me the link. I'll keep it to myself :) and will let you know if I find any scam-like activity by that site.
 
How fast the page (site, when you mention it is a footer link) would be crawled by SE bots in your opinion? Daily? Then by now (a month after you bought the service), your site should surely have seen more activity (jumping) in SERPS... agree?

BTW, how many OBLs from that page/footer? That would tell you how much link juice power to expect to your target page assuming that the PR8 is true and do-f0ll0w and whatever is necessary to make the juice flow out...

Well when I asked about the link a few weeks ago someone said 2-3 weeks so I patiently waited but yeah my monthly subscription payment is due in a day or so and I still haven't seen any movement. Right now it has 10 OBL and majesticseo, ahrefs and openlinkexplorer all have them indexed/crawled and looking at the site I'm pretty sure its been indexed, I mean it gets tons of links everyday from what I saw in ahrefs.

Hmm are you saying that the site hasn't be recrawled by G yet that is why i haven't seen any movement?

and I just checked it's a d0follow link...

I'm saying that the page is crawled very frequently, daily minimum, so your site/page should have seen some result in SERPs by now (3+ weeks later)...

10 OBL's only? Footer link and 10 OBLs... something is wrong about it...


IMO, delay the payment if not totally scrap it. You can restart the campaign later, can't you, after solving the mystery? Any refund policy if the site is not showing any result? Paying him through CC?

yea thats what I hoped for but haven't seen anything. G-web tools doesn't show any penalties so I have no clue why I'm not moving. So yeah...i dunno if I should just stick it out and pay the monthly fee or cancel it and save my money

Do you think b/c G hasn't had an PR Update like it was supposed to that perhaps the relevance or impact of a high PR link is useless now?
