I've been in business for 2 1/2 years (cleaning industry). I rank first for the top searched keywords and have good reviews throughout. I'm not running adwords or any yelp ads (I only have about 11 yelp reviews, as it's rarely used here).

However, I feel like the business is not doing "great" I recently hired an SEO guy, so I will see how that plays off in the long run.

What could I possibly be doing wrong? I know the market is there. About a year ago, one of the more known companies did a interview blog and mentioned that the company does a million + in revenue.

Meanwhile, their reviews and website are complete shit.

My site follows along the lines of many over here and the use of L27.

I've done offline marketing as well, such as flyers, business cards in shops, ect.

Any suggestions would be great!

Are you asking people where they found you? Monitoring where your traffic is coming from? Split testing areas where you drop leaflets? You need to find where your customers are coming from and how, then double down on those areas. The only way you will know is by statistics as the numbers don't lie.

When they book, I have a required field that asks them where they find us, and I'll have to say every booking is Google search. It's all organic as I am not paying for ads.

How can I go about on improving this if my site ranks high already for top keywords?

I do serve over 100+ cities/towns

So, if I search google "city+cleaning service" I don't come up first

but if I search "county+cleaning serivce" I come up as first.

Hope this helps to possibly further your repsponse.

Cheers

million seos out there but only 10% are good. and they dont need to advertise themselves as seos

Sounds wrong .

You should easily be pulling loads of local clients in from your own area and borough near you.

Street by street in every borough needs to no your business .

Are you locally
advertised on social websites and local papers websites ?

Most used clientele should be offices
Have you got any keywords for office cleaner

Thread moved to the "Local SEO" section

I am an electrician with a family business from my aging father. I dabble and experiment with SEO, so I can't really say what silver bullet exists. However, I would wonder if you are being found cause of organic listings or LOCAL Snack Pack listings?

I use KWFinder and such to gauge where I am at. Do you have city service pages on your site as well?

You can also autopsy your competitor's sites to duplicate links, etc.....
Things like how a site is siloed or not affects things, speed loading, mobile displays etc.....

You can also run a contest to get a free house cleaning. I am going do it for electrical. What does it cost me to do a 200-amp service? All together with costs 775 to 850. So I run a contest for a chance of a new service. All the entries are wanting or needing new electrical services and can be funneled for a purchase. People that are hot in the buyer process and in immediate need. I was going to do this through FACEBOOK which I know zero about.

I need sleep since I have to do parking lot lighting in 15 degree weather the next couple of days.

  • Repetitive direct mail campaign to allotments of places that you would like to begin serving
  • Maybe move toward Business to Business rather than Business to Consumer.
  • Create a recurring maintenance program for continuity.
  • Reach out to your past customers and build relationships that they'll remember.
  • Leverage Word of Mouth from your current customer base.
  • Begin running Bing Ads, Google Ads, and Perhaps even Facebook Ads for quick results rather than waiting on SEO. Use a Call Tracking number to measure results.
  • Make sure to optimize your Google My Business Listing for Categories, Hours, and Service Area.

Are you certain that your competitors are not using more traditional methods of client acquisition such as the cold call?

i stumbled upon a few cleaning business on reddit and some even say they make about 400k a year. that is hugeee. a million? that is something else.

$1m per year in revenue? Holy hell, I didn't know cleaning companies could even get close to that figure.

I guess never say never.

Segmentation of your buyer audience.
Spring cleaning
Holiday cleanup for Thanks Giving, Xmas,Easter when the family shows up to the house.

Use social media of share your best cleaning tips, winner gets a free service. What does it cost to send a crew out to a residence?

What if you expand in to carpet cleaning, outdoor window washing, etc.....
