Okay I am somewhat a noob when it comes to affiliate marketing, but I am a little confused right now. Here is what I have done so far. I grabbed a url with the product name and the words alert or warning, etc after it. It is a .com. I have 3 posts / 1000 words each. I have also included a contact page, about page, disclosure page, and a private policy page. I have been writing articles for a couple of weeks at ezarticle link. Supposedly, ezarticle creates tons of backlinks over time, but we shall see.

Anyways, my confusion is this, my product is I guess you can say an embarrassing topic for mostly women. For 2 weeks my site has been sitting at the bottom of page 2. I can't get it to move at all. Should I just keep writing articles and keep submitting or wait and see what happens. I just don't understand why it is not budging.

I am not like all the other newbies who are wanting a hand out, just a little confused. Wandering if I am doing something wrong. Maybe it is just a time game and time will tell a little better.

    Thank you all in advance!

Link Diversity. What kind of links have you not been able to get for the site? Social bookmarks? Web 2.0s? Blog links? It sounds like you have article directory. One of the things that I have done is to write a list of all of the different types of links that are out there, and make sure that I diversify my backlink profile as much as possible.

I guess that is where I am messing up. The only backlinks I have been building is from ezarticle link.

Well you already know about diversifying links so you might as well add more content. Pick some related keywords and get to 10 posts. Put a light sprinkling of the 3 main keywords in these new 7, and when you use one of the 3 main keywords you make it the anchor text of a link to it's focused page.

    With content, more is better.

There are diminishing returns when it comes to getting links from the same domain over and over. While you can still get a trickle of traffic from the articles, the SEO value stops after a while. Think about it from Google's perspective. They want to believe your site is interesting to other people and links over and over from the same domain wouldn't suggest that.

Take those same unique pieces of content and start submitting them to web 2.0s like blogger, wordpress, squidoo, hubpages, etc. Bookmark your pages on sites like digg, reddit, stumbleupon, etc. Get some links from some forums within your niche. Of course, this is a just a small idea of what's possible but it will help you with ranking. That's what people mean here when they say "link diversity".

soeace, before you start your link building, consider how much content you actually have on your website.

Make sure you are covering the target phrase as the main subject in your content. Talk specifically about your keyword phrase while mentioning related terms as well and your rankings will dramatically improve. Once you have solid content placement any attempts at backlink building will have a greater effect.
