For 2 years now am in the reputation management business with a team of 20 people. The money is very good, however it's getting very stressful off late.

My conscience keeps eating me alive as I noticed most of the guys who buy reviews end up scamming their clients or offering poor service(I sometimes go and read their real feedbacks most of them just take money and close the listing)

When I initally got into this business it was more of clients who wanted that extra push to boost the listings on SERP. However off late the majority of them buy reviews on listings that end up scamming people of money(churn and burn listings)

Overall I have 14 years of experience spread across consulting, Sales and management.

I had been contemplating moving away from this industry for a while now and today was my wake up call when someone put me back in reality.

I have always wanted to retire early and had been postponing this. Just the greed to merely hoard money probably kept me back from retirement

Starting today I have decided to slowly come out of reputation management business after fulfilling the orders in hand. Starting next year I will slowly move away from IM and move off grid for real. No more only talks of just retirement and still keep hustling.

I count my blessings and thank everyone who has been part of journey here on BHW so far

The IM is really filling up with a lot of scammers. Finding new ways to scam and not even thinking about what must be felt by those who got scammed.

As you were in rep management, even though your intentions were clear but the buyers are not they have their tricks to manipulate things. If you don;t give service, someone else will give. If things are going bad then you should avoid people which you seems suspicious definitely.

There is not best way to retire its your call when to do that. if you are steady and doing fine with other tasks, it great to retire early.

I am not blaming IM or complaining. I know there are 100s of people willing to offer this service.

Yes I am grateful with what I have made over 11 years. I can live comfortably in a tier 1 country for 30+ years without working. To my advantage I live in India and will just get into farming/live off the grid. Cannot instantly do this. Though will do this in phases as I also want my employees to land on their feet when I stop.

Do invite me to your off grid place. Not kidding, I'm very interested in building an off grid farm myself.
Also, good call stopping a service that lead to people getting scammed.
Good luck, man.

For the last few years, I've mostly been living off grid.
If you've got any specific questions or want resources, aside from searching online, let me know.

On another note, I do think there are a good # of people who want a first hand perspective on rep. management and the like. If you decide to make some meaningful and or educational content about your experience - I'd gladly share it throughout the networks I work with.
