I am in the process of creating a dating website. I already have the lander but I need a solid back end for registeration, profiles, etc..... I was going to have someone create it but I rather go with something more stable and grounded. Does anyone know where I can get a basic back end for a dating website? (registration, profiles, searching for members, etc...)

Sorry bud, I've looked into this and all the "scripts" I've found are lacking at best. Turns out people that write successful dating software keep it for themselves. Everything you'll find will be poorly written and have a terrible template system, if any at all.
Your best bet is to build one yourself. Luckily, I'm a programmer by day, and am about finished with mine.
The toughest thing you'll run into is the location algorithm. Are you familiar with SQL languages?

I have a solid Dating script that I created,It has all of the features you would need as well as a facebook / gmail style chat feature + many more options.
Long story short : The dating site was stopped because that clients biggest competitor went bankrupt,So they put all their energy into soaking up their business etc.

Surprised at the negative reaction on this thread even from experienced members. Either add something constructive or move on. Dating sites still work. I launched one few months back and already at 10k members and had 3 offers to buy the site already. Best is to go for a niche based site and not just a general dating site. You have the right idea to find a stable script that is open source and then customize it to suit your needs rather than starting from scratch. Sending you PM.

Dating is kinda lucrative field and once u start tapping the hidden gems of it then all good to bank as much as. Itsnt like u making meager by selling ur services or doing small small things n wait for ur shack to fill up with gold coins but couple of sales each day and u on the path of being rich. People making bogus comments are purely naive and they dont merely know the potentiality of field, rather they just think only their duck is producing golden eggs lol
