I am a programmer I am stuck

Experience taught me that this is a tricky proposition - how many of you are very good programmers? By good, I am talking about skilled and affordable. Affordable is tricky because its not about your hourly rates. You can code for 50 cents an hour for a year and give no value to the buyer.

Any JV with a coder typically drains the pocket of the other partner. If the coder turns out to be a jackass, you lose money, integrity and many potential boners. I have serious trust issues with coders. As far as I know, this is the case with most JV partners. Good coders and good writers are hard to come by. Good as in - timely response, logical thinking and knowing the tasks.

If you still think you're really good, you can PM me.
I agree here and this also applies to hiring mobile game coders. I mean why would they do a good job if they think they could do a clone of the game and make themselves 50 grand a day from revenues and ad share revenues? Also the market for mobile games for the Indie is too much. Its like the lottery if the game takes off

How much coding does it take to make a good site like Fiverr or Flippa?
And what is best web language to do them in?

I'm using PHP and it would work with it. It's really up to you when trying to develop for the web. Just choose the language you are most comfortable it.

a lot of people who have written a little bit of code think they are good programmers... on the other hand, a lot of business owners have a wrong idea of what a good programmer is.

I have no idea. However, this is the kind of job that won't reach anywhere without $100,000 at your disposal for promotions.

Very true. It's impossible for most buyers to read between lines and assess the skills of a coder.

For me it's the other way around. I get these ideas all the time, but don't have the skills nor the money to put the wheels rolling.

My exact situation. I was thinking about going back to school to get formal education in coding, but i might just try to learn on my own.

Many thanks all the replies guys, there are many clones of flippa and fiverr and those marketplaces, I am after something unique and helpful to others.

I think you should spend time reading code in github instead of going to school. You will learn the way that people do real software, it's practical - not theory.

How come there are no good coded Flippa or Fiverr clones on here Huh Huh? Eink EInk nudge nudge
