Hypothetically Get a Website Removed from SERP

There's a website disparaging someone. The content on the website is pretty schizophrenic, and unseemly.

It unfortunately ranks well in search.

What would you do to hide, drown, or altogether remove this?

You can drown it but you can't remove it. And drowning doesn't last long either, just a temporary fix.

I mean, you can remove it for specific reasons. Google offers a removal feature I’ve used successfully in the past.

In this case, there isn’t a clear “dox” or threat, so it is a bit trickier.

Maybe someone has a clever idea..?

have you tried submitting it to the G removal feature? i take it they deemed no action necessary. if its despairing someone it should match some criteria.
-contact the host
-contact registrar
-contact a lawyer (who's handled these kind of situations before successfully)
-get 10 domains/web 2.0's to outrank and push them down. that's how content reputation management agency's do it e.g,. for mugshot "removal". shortcut is contact an agency specializing in that to do it for you.

So, we've tried the one most like your number 4 with some success...

How would you go about 1 & 2?

Considering 3 but seems not cost effective..

As G denied your claim, it looks like you just don't like the content and they're not breaking any law. Lawyer is unlikely to do more than write a stern letter (unless they are breaking a law). Usually it's enough to scare someone into shutting down but no guarantees.

As to your question. You run a WHOIS on the domain and gather the registrar + server info. Then go to their support channels and complain. Again, no guarantees.

Personally if this was me best option is just ignore it. Nobody cares about crazy online ramblings. Or contact a reputation management agency if this is causing you harm. You could always do what the agency does by yourself. This is an internet marketing forum after all.
