Hello everyone, first post here. Now that I found this site I feel I can do something with a domain I registered a few years ago that I never did anything with. Should I go with something that is not hyphenated and possibly shorter? or not incur any additional costs and just add hosting to the one I already have.

How terrible is this domain to build a business and generate leads?

The domain is something like social-security-disability-help

If you already have the domain use it. There has been speculation about these type of domains around here recently but that is what it is and if those people are right and having it too keyword rich with hyphens incurs some kind of penalty I think it must be a tiny penalty that you can outdo with proper onsite SEO or maybe a couple of extra backlinks because I have domains like that and haven't had an issue with them not ranking well. Again, if I had already paid for it I would go ahead and use it.

Next time you go to buy a domain you could read some of the arguments for not buying one like that and make up your own mind; in my experience it doesn't really matter and I wouldn't pay for something I already have.
