I was just reading this earlier this evening:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_censorship_in_the_People's_Republic_of_China

    Comments:

I guess, when your government prevents you from seeing 13% of the internet, a picture of sheep walking above a roadway while people dodge cars looks REALLY interesting. I had thought about starting a thread on censorship in China. Also thought of making a site on the subject, where articles, etc... that are censored in China can be found in one common spot. Also methods for people in China to circumvent the censorship, download for Tor and instructions on how to use, information on encryption technology, etc...

Kind of like "Wikileaks", in a way.

Anyways, I decided that Chinese Censorship is a much more interesting topic than this lame, state-approved picture, unless people might want to interpret it politically. Sheep take the state-created and safe, easy and long way, while people face danger and go right from A to B.

A lot of Chinese will even deny that they are censored, because they believe that they are being watched constantly, and so everything they say may have consequences. Funny thing is, I feel the same way, and I'm in the US.

Yes, I too read that a while ago, but didn't get an idea on starting a website for that, thinking of consequences though. Anyways mate, I'm not from China, it was shared by a friend in China. Just thought of sharing.

Anyways, best of luck starting a website on topic, I'll be looking forward to see you host one soon. Please do know when you do, so we could get more info on such things.

    Thanks.

I live close to a foot bridge and routinely see stray dogs take the stairs while people try to skip and weave through heavy traffic. As I always take the foot bridge, I have never really thought about it like how the OP did. Maybe I will take a picture and post too. Should be funny.

I didn't took this pic mate and more over, I'm not from the location you see there. It was shared by one of my fellow FB friends, as mentioned in the first post and just thought of sharing it here. Maybe many might have seen such scenes earlier. But, this was my 1st time.

You have no prof that those people wanted to cross the road, maybe they wanted to clean the windows of the passing car, or beg, or repair a car.
    Or they where male hookers

From what I hear censorship is not the biggest problem. I hear China is doing forced abortions and make women not be able to have children. Also I hear there are execution vans so they basically don't take you to a certain place to kill you, they pick you up put you in the van and kill you on the road to the incinerator. Not sure how true are these things but I did read about them in mainstream - which may be a western anti-chinese move or might be real.

Ah yes, but by having censorship it allows for these things to happen (if they are true). It is all part of the repressive nature of the state.

Could be mate. I'm not 100% telling that they are trying to cross the road. After reading about the censorship thing by B. Friendly, I thought it could be created for some reason by someone. But, again not sure with that. Just saw the pic and thought to share thinking I would learn something about that, if not people will enjoy.
