I've been targeting various high end financial keywords for my operation. One of them has nearly 1 billion results in Google and is one the most expensive keywords in Adwords. It just hit number 9 today after bouncing around on the second page for the last 8 weeks and working it's way up from 100 over the last 4 months. It's on kids! This keyword at number 10 is worth another 100k a year conservatively for me.

Build a logical strategy, diversify, outsource grunt work and build consistently.

Thanks, yeah use a service like buybacklinkscheap dot com (no affiliation) to submit articles to private networks like article ranks and such for you. Join a private network like massarticleradiation (BHW service) and use spinrewrite to rewrite articles quickly and submit to the private network with backlinks anchored. Create plenty of unique gateway pages ex. affordable YOUR KEYWORD, fast YOUR KEYWORD, and randomly backlink to those as well and not just your front page.

A strategy that works well but I've barely implemented:

go on digg and find the most dugg story about your niche. Write a great 500-600 word blog post about it. Use a social bookmarking service for like $2-5 to plug it. The idea is to try to make your telling of the story better and get it to take off. It won't work most of the times, but when it does it'll be huge.

Write honest and diplomatic reviews about your competitors to scalp traffic from them. One of my best keywords is the name of a competitor, I rank number 2 for their name

tool, but it has a monthly fee of $8. Google it you'll find the discount code. Way better than the The Best Spinner which suddenly stopped working. It recognizes grammar and context to a significant degree

How many exact searches per month? I don't understand why people use "results" like it means anything.

I can't give the exact number of searches because anyone with semrush and deductive reasoning can figure out my keywords but I can tell you that I make $10-15 on each targeted hit. I rank now for 3 very profitable keywords. As far as my strategy I just utilize virtual everything at my dispoasle to some degree.

even though my strategies weren't developed from BHW I promise to get donor status before 2013
