Huge serp drop after building pbn links

jim boykin mentioned this strategy at a conference in the last year and said he saw great returns, and its a much safer way, obviously

With every single Penguin update, the ideal ratio of exact anchors is lower and lower. Google has really advanced algorithms that can determine what the text is about. You don't really have to tell it via anchors anymore. In a few years, anchor texts will be completely redundant.

Compare your anchors to your competition, check those ranking top 3 and you would know where you are going wrong.

I'd really examine anything possible that could be the ultimate resource. Gmail, IP, Local Network, Domain etc - everything has got incredibly smart these days.

And about LSI... are you sure they were LSI and not partial match anchors? Many people mistake these two and end up veeeery sad. So if you built shittons of partial match anchors, it's quite obvious where the problem is.

This is VERY true... yet another thing you never hear anybody warn about around here, but is probably one of the 3 most common and deadly mistakes. I've even done it myself in my early days of SEO and it bit me way back then.

LSI's is commonly thought to be a synonym of your keyword, part of your keyword with words added, or even watered down versions of your keyword. It is better to think of LSI as "industry terms" that are related to what your keyword is about. Things related to the function of your keyword for instance.

Oddly enough most "LSI keyword generators" I've seen don't actual output REAL LSI keywords... they too shit out things in the form of half-your-keyword+new-word.

They are hiding most of their backlinks coming from their PBN. Also backlinks from Wordpress Web 2.0 and most bloggers can't be seen on Ahrefs.

this is what i looked like for me after adding pbn links in mid december, my situation, kw difficult and anchor ratio may differ from you though
but the way I see it you should bounce back eventually unless there's a serious problem

What happened to your site after 7th February? Did you build backlinks in January or did you get penalized?

in January i did nothing because i wanted to see if what I did was effective. no penalty since it bounced back on it's own, now it just bounces in the 40s every day.

it might drop out again since new links are still being crawled
