Hey all,

After installing Google Analytics for a 3 month old site I have sitting stable on the first page for about 2 months, I suddenly experienced a HUGE drop in rankings.

My site cannot be found anywhere on the SERPS for the main keyword. However, I am not deindexed as I can still see my site through the site: parameter. I haven't been doing Blackhat SEO.. what could be happening? Help would be appreciated :(

I just did a check on seoserp and found it on page 500 :(

man don't sweat the movement at all. Ur site is still so new it's
bouncing/settling in the SERPs.
On a side note, many would agree that if it's a BH site, or even using heavy
BH off-site methods that it's better to not use anything with Google.

good luck ;)

That doesn't seem to be the case for me. I've been dancing around page 1 but never dropped so drastically since my site was created 3 months ago. The weird thing is, my web 2.0s for the keyword are ranking higher than my money site now.

I started with amazon about 3 months ago and it took some effort to reach $10-$20 a day.. my site dropping will mean I'm fucked and have to start over.. so devastated.. :(

Did you remove google analytics? I would try that. But it was already mentioned, your site is to new.

Side note, you said you are making $10 to $20 each day off a 3 month old site? Kudos to you. No BH? Double kudos!

This happens all the time. When a site dances is the most important time to build quality links to it and it always comes back stronger in my experience. Don't sweat it, just keep building good links.

Yes.. it took me about 15 unique, high quality 1000 word articles to get there though - I was working pretty hard on it the first two months. It brought me about 150 unique visitors a day and now I can see the traffic starting to dry up.

This is a drop in rankings for ALL of my keywords, and its pretty damn bad from what I can tell. Frustrating.

have you already removed google analytics? maybe you should. just so that you could be doubly sure of the culprit. i believe you're not the only one that has experienced this

Yep, i've removed analytics. Fingers crossed..

I wouldn't of removed analytics. Reason being is you are now doing 2 things at once, quality link building and removing analytics so if the site boosts back up how will you know what to attribute this to? No reason to be in a hurry with SEO, best to take your time and be positive of what is causing the changes you see.

You might want to think about dumping GA for getclicky anyway.

Your site is just ranking. Same happened to me twice.
It can take like 3 days, then it should be back, a few spots higher or lower.

Piwik
Piwik

Don't even think about anything like getclicky over Piwik. Seriously.
Piwik is incredible (it's like google webmaster and analytics in one)

I hope it's just 'ranking'..

When i search for my domainname without the TLD I find myself in the 400s.

Which is just insane because it would be on the first page before.

Same for my other long-tail keywords, I used to be on the top 5 for the low-comp long tail keywords for my inner pages but now I've disappeared.

Pretty sure it's not 'honeymoon period' or anything like that, my site just got penalized :(

i dont think that analytics is the reason for the drop.

anyhow i removed analytics of all my pages. because mainly i have shitty adsense pages where people dont stay to long. I was concerned that g will use the data some day and will punish the ranking because of that.
instead i installed piwik. thats great or even better for my pages. Can recommend it.

Its only the google dance. Dont stop work or increase take it in same way. Working in same manner as past and your site will come up in few days. :)

You have added your site in Google Webmaster to? You selected the preferred domain with or without wwww maybe?

So.. after doing some research I'm sure this is the dreaded Google Sandbox.

Why?

1. Even for EXTREMELY LOW competition long tail keywords, my rankings have dropped a lot. I'm talking about VERY, VERY LOW competition here.

2. When I search for my domain name I am nowhere in the top 100 but on the other hand, some of my web 2.0s are ranking HIGHER than my main site.

3. Sites with 1 page or 2 pages of unoptimized content are ranking higher for my keywords. I put in lots of work with On-Page SEO so this just doesn't make sense.
