HUGE PROBLEM! I invested $150 in SEO but.. :'(

I just do not know what is going on. I can not get indexed. Around 1 or 2 weeks ago I invested $100 in an SEO service on this forum (and some other stuff).. it completed and I got my reports, but I just won't get indexed. Robots.txt and .htaccess is all fine. Analytics and Webmaster tools is all set up. The only thing I notice is this:



So maybe there was a previous site that got blacklisted or something? Any help? My domain/site is around 2 or 3 weeks old.

Weak stuff, for $100 and an easy kw, you can rank it so easily. Give it a little more time, before you come to conclusion.

I would expect it to get indexed by now at the least.

I've got a very similar problem, though I haven't spent that much on SEO (for now).

My site already has a decent amount of content, and I'm adding more stuff every week.

I'm sitting on page 6 of G for my keyword, behind newer and less helpful pages. It's a low competition keyword, and my on-site SEO is pretty good.

So what gives?

I'm starting to think that maybe the wordpress theme I chose is not SEO friendly.

Please let me know when you find a solution so that I can look into that for my site.

Having just on-site SEO is rarely enough to rank. Try some link building

FYI for anyone else who might stumble on this thread...to check index status on Google type the following code in to the search bar:

site:www.yourdomain.com

GWT sometimes take a while to fully update, the above method is much quicker.

OMG A whole $150 invesement???? Man you must really want to rank that website.

With $150 you could have bought MS for 1 month, Some proxies, and some captchas and build a nice chucks of quality links yourself.

There is a few. As adeptbob said one is called back links, also if you build your site using WordPress you get index within 48 hours with just selecting Let my site appear in search engines.

I don't want to be insensitive, but this business isn't really built for people will high time preference and significant attachment to small sums of money.

$150 could be like an hour work for a first-world professional, a few days work at McDonald's, or a couple months in factory some places. So it's a lot, but it isn't.
And 1-2 weeks is nothing. You might get lucky sometimes, but it was a lot easier in the old days. This isn't a business where you just throw all the money you can find at something and hope sticks. You have to know why you are doing something, especially if you are paying someone. You have to put in time learning either enough to do processes yourself or enough to know how to delegate those processes to others. SEO providers are not your brains, they are mostly just labor. Even if they contributing more than simply delegating and automating tasks, if they are off-page only and don't actually direct your strategy from the ground up they have little control over results.

As far as indexing goes, most of my sites are 7-8 years old or older. I have newer domains but I haven't really ever worried about indexing. All it ever took in the old days was to have a site up and get 1 link from any established site, preferrably one that gets crawled frequently. And that's all I've ever done since I usually write a short blog post, almost always on a highly related established site, about the new site or throw up a home page link and that's that. And personally I probably wouldn't pay anyone for SEO before my site is even indexed. I would do a soft, "natural" launch. if you need a site to make money in 2-3 weeks, you have problems that SEO isn't going to solve in the short term.

The common problem I see is people pop a site and they want to rank on the next 48 hours in the top. They say hey Google my site is about "some huge keyword", give me rankings. They forget there is millions of others webmasters trying top do the same as them. Yes $150 can feed a whole tribe in Africa for 2 months, and it can pay the electricity bill of a family in need. But the real truth is to make money you have to invest money. You will see many kids hit it big with just scamming people, it can last long time or it can last nothing. You will see other struggle because they can not make more than $10 a month. You will find different responses on the forums, but the truth is to make money you have to invest money.

Google loves Youtube, and a boosted review video got my site indexed within a day.

As above there are loads of ways to get indexed.. Lots of Fiverr gigs will also do the trick - the Social Signals approach seems to work well for me.

I really do not know why people are not a bit patient? Google indexes a brand new site in 5 days at the latest.

What kind courage forces someone to buy seo service (which means only "backlinks" in many people's mind here) for a new site? It is something similar to be volunteered to sleep with a bear.

Patience is also an amazing way to get indexed.
