Huge Earthquake March 19th in Cali?

Well well, I just entered this subforum to place a question and got carried by this thread and felt impeled to give my thoughts :)

1st regarding the moon being close to earth and its ability to cause earthquakes I really don't know if that could happen BUT for the guy who said the moon only cause tides, well, it's true, the moon cause tides because of the gravitational force. At the distance it normailly is, the gravitational force attract the oceans causing them to rise or fall (if there's no action of the gravitational force at that moment).

If we think about that, if the moon is REALLY close to the earth, the gravitational force would be stronger wouldn't it? MAYBE that high gravitational force can cause that the earth's susceptible layers, like in the pacific, move harder than usual and causing that some of them that were aleady almost ready to cause an earthquake do fail or crash.

I think this could be possible. I was hearing some geologist talking about the layers in front of the south american pacific coast and he was saying that an earthquake WILL happen but we just don't know WHEN. He said that because of the meassurements and historical data they get. They have data showing a move of 3 meters per year since the last big earthquake in 1902 (I think) and there will be a moment when the two layers crash between them (no way of predicting when or where).

I don't think anyone is capable to predict the exact day and place of an eaarthquake. And as someone said, around the globe there are earthquakes higher than 5 or 6 almost everyday. You just have to predict one for any day at any of the highest probability points and you will get it right at some point :)
 
There was a move like 5-10 years ago about a time machine, and the dude went back in time, and the moon had split apart and fell towards earth, and wiped out civilization.

Let's just hope it doesn't get TOO close. It'll be way worse than any earthquake. (I know the moon won't actually split apart, but just saying)

Uhhh ya so this morning at 6 am I was still awake ( I live in LA )

I closed my eyes to fall asleep and felt a small jolt from my bed. It was really minor and lasted maybe 1-2 seconds but I knew for 100% it was an earthquake. I even told myself that was an earthquake.

I checked just now on Google by typing in "Los Angeles Earthquake" and their was an earthquake under Pico Rivera at the same exact time.

Now I'm anxious about this whole SuperMoon crap!
 
There was some psychic in my country who predicted an earthquake. Ppl in that city went out camping in tents that day, but nothing happened. It was kinda stupid situation for them. Hope that guy isnt right for Cali
 
My brother who works along the coastline got an email from his company warning him about a possible disastrous something on the 19th because of the moon being close to the earth and all that.

It's never a bad thing to be prepared.

My girlfriend is a marine biologist and said that today (Wed 17th) that the waves were the biggest her and people that she works with had ever seen and Thur is supposed to be even bigger. Hopefully there all wrong it just seems like a lot of things are adding up to be at least a day of crazy drivers heh
 
Tap in "Earthquake Map" and go to the live site on the USGS - updates hourly in live time - You will see the "Ring of Fire" -the Pacific Tectonic Plate- has been experiencing earthquakes around its edge since a couple of weeks - hundreds of them. Then expand and look at the world maps - pretty much all of them are experiencing quakes around their edges. Some are occurring in the centre of the plates, such as Iran. These are indicators of major seismic shifts. The Vikings referred to this as the "Wirm of the World"(dragon) stretching and moving in it's sleep - As the Chinese proverb says - "May you live in interesting times". Indeed!!

Full moon Saturday - Equinox on the 20th = extra large "Spring" tides. Oh and the thermohaline circuit in the Atlantic is cooling rapidly - Expect adverse weather conditions during the thunderstorm season in August in the Northern Hemisphere.
Other than that, everything is just Dandy!

I'm amazed at how many of you dislike Fox News. Having said that, where do you get your news from? CNN, MSNBC, ABC (aka the left wing media). Yeah, those folks are losers and their rankings prove it daily.

I think many of you knocking Fox News lean so far to the left that you no longer know up from down or can think for yourselves.

I don't think the left wing media is any better but fox is simply outrageous. Lucky canadians have it banned because they don't allow media that lies.

The rankings/views of fox media are proof of how well they brainwash people into believing them. You're not seeing much fox approval here because we are all marketers, and blackhat ones at that.
