Huge Earthquake March 19th in Cali?

This has nothing to do with BHW but I thought it was interesting..So someone sent me this and I live in Cali and was there for 1989 earthquake and ya it was pretty crazy. But the guy that predicted the 1989 earthquake is predicting one again this Sat March 19th.....I usually don't believe in this crap but he has some pretty crazy points. here is the video... *Disclaimer - This is from fox news a channel I hate and they always think the world is ending, so take it for what's it's worth.....

That's actually pretty scary. Lets hope that this is wrong. As a precaution I'll be wearing my tin foil hat during the "supermoon" period. Just in case.

Stupid crap? Are you saying the moon and its distance to earth can have no effect whatsoever on earthquakes?
 
Hey, looking at your link it actually looks like an article about moon quakes. Was that the right link? I was actually wanting to read about the quake prediction.

I think the moon only cause tides. Earthquakes happen because the slide of layers inside the earth

To clarify, 'stupid crap' is what I think Fox tends to talk about for the sake of getting viewers.

Do I think the moon being closer to the earth has absolutely ZERO effect on the Earth whatsoever? No--but I don't think it has a statistically significant impact on the earthquakes. The scientific evidence backs up that theory.

My knowledge is limited to what science states. I basically have two pieces of info: Fox posts a sensationalized article (yet again...) about how the moon is going to cause massive doomsday earthquake. Meanwhile, scientific studies basically say "nope, everything we've seen shows that nothing will happen... or if something does happen, it's completely unrelated to the moon."
 
I see FoxNews.com, and don't click link. Only Fox would try to predict earthquakes.
 
LOL. It's impossible to predict earthquakes given our current technology.

One day, but not for a loooong time.
 
No one can detect when will an earthquake arise, even technology can't.
 
about this actually some people have been predicting earthquakes since even the early 1930's but you have to go out on a limb to believe them because some have dreams or visions about it, and some have dreams/visions plus they think other things have an effect

I agree Fox News is BS and I hate them, but this scientist is not from fox news he's a Geologist in SF that studies other things than main stream scientist. Things like rare whales beaching, birds going crazy with their sonar and other rare wildlife stuff could predict earthquakes. Just because we don't have the technology to predict earthquakes now doesn't mean that other factors can't. I guess only time will tell, he's predicting between March 16th and March 26 are at the biggest chance of this happening. So ya I wouldn't even think twice if it was some jackass host on Fox but this guy has nothing to do with them, so I guess only time will tell if he's right.
 
Dam scientists instead of trying to figure out something like Anti gravity Air crafts such as UFO's, why not try and create technology capable of predicting an upcoming earthquake?

There are thousands of cranks who make predictions from anything about assassinations, to bombings, to terror attacks, to earthquakes, ....etc every single week. The one who gets our attention is the one who said it will happen the week before it happened. Their hope is to show up on Oprah, NBC and all kinds of talk shows to make a MIL from their next book. Think about it - this is easier than winning the lottery. The odds of something big happening is about (what?) a hundred to one as many big stuff happen every year.
