Huge drop in Google

Hello BHW people,

I have always used a kind of whitehat strategy (as far as i know :P) on my website in a casino niche.
Then i wanted to try a SEO backlink package from this forum, the guy i have ordered from is a well-known men here.
When he was ready and i have received the report, my ranking went up great, as i was #1 on some competitive keywords. My website has dropped tonight from great positions like #1 and #8 to #48 etc..
My rankings are dancing all day, going up 10, then dropping 10 and so on. Does this mean it is a huge google Dance? Or do i have a penalty? If i would receive a penalty it probably would be with another sites.. this one is the most white-hat..

It might be google dance if you blog is new. You can check WHM tools for any penalty. Check how many backlinks are made in past few days.
 
I haven't received any message about penalty, and my site is about 8 months old, Always did it great.. will be checking backlinks thanks
 
Usually when all your keywords hit page 5 or around there it means a penalty. At least that's my experience
 
Keep calm and observe the SERP changes for a week, if your rankings keep on going down then it might be a penalty. As you said you're following white hat methods it might be caused from the backlink package. Audit your backlinks and check if any sites dropped its PR. You can figure out this way to make sure if that was just a Google dance or penalty.
 
Thanks for the replies. The strangest thing is that the rankings change every minute or something. If i compare to the first drop, they are already risen around the 5-10 places. I will check the next days.
 
It's dancing - nothing to worry about. When you get a GWT message, and all your ranks are fixed at 40-50 and wont budge.... that's when you've got a problem (manual penalty).
 
I'm not familiar with the casino niche but typically moves more than 5-10 spots are algorithmic penalties (panda/penguin). Your situation has nothing to do with competitors, as those moves are too dramatic. Also keep in mind new penalties don't blast you into oblivion like they used to. Now they bump you down, make you think you have hope of rising again, and slowly let you drip out of the top 100. Just keep watching your rankings, you'll know soon enough.
 
Fluctuations are normal. Keep calm and observe your SERPs for a longer period of time.

I disagree. After you build backlinks dancing anywhere from #1 to #NA is completely normal for a week or two.
