Hello everyone, how are you?
I've been reading BlackHat World for the past 7 years but I don't post often here. However, I need your help on this matter. Recently, I've been trying some new stuff: running push notification campaigns and driving traffic to CPA offers. This might as well turn into my first journey here in BHW in the next days if you find this interesting.
As I'm from Brazil, I'm not testing campaigns with a lot of money (our currency is really undervalued right now). I know this is not the right way of gathering data, but I'm spending the amount I'm able to.
So far, my setup is this:
- Added $100.00 in Galaksion for push traffic
- Joined Mobidea. Got a Tier 3 country PIN submit in the Sweepstakes vertical, which pays $1.89/submit
- Got my Redtrack.io 14-day trial as my tracking software
- Bought a domain with a name focused on my country of choice for this test
- Created 3 different prelanders
- Created 5 different campaigns in Galaksion, one for each different push notification design/copywriting
- Tracked each of these campaigns in Redtrack, spliting 1/3 of the traffic to each different prelander.
The problem I ran into:
According to the Redtrack (in the Offers report): I got a total of 447 LP clicks (clicks from Lander to Offer), with 2 conversions.
According to the Mobidea report: I got a total of 282 clicks ("number of users being redirected to the advertiser page), with 2 conversions.
This means Mobidea is only accounting for 63% of all the clicks Redtrack supposedly sent them.
I know that some inconsistencies between the tracking software and the traffic source/offer should be normal. However, my data is showing 47% less clicks being tracked in my affiliate network compared to what my tracking software shows.
Do you think this means Mobidea might be hiding or not accounting for part of the traffic I'm sending to my campaign? Because if so, this is really serious.
I paused my campaigns for now as I'm getting into other affiliate networks to test. So far I've spent $23.67 in push traffic and earned $3.78. I'm on a low, but I'm not the stupid affiliate who thinks I'm going to convert in the first few campaigns/prelanders I try (it's been 7 years here in the forums and much more around internet businesses, haha). I'm using this to gather as much data as I can to succeed in the future.
I'd love your opinion on this issue and if you have any tips on my setup, please let me know. I'm thinking to move to other countries to try Sweeps/Dating offers but I'm still looking for the best Tier countries as I don't have much money to spend on these tests and want to get the best data out of it. I'll probably move to Dating SOI offers in Tier 2/3 countries. What do you think?
Thanks a lot for your time and replies!
