If I go to https www mydomain com it takes me to the site. If I go to http www mydomain com it takes me to my domain name registrar, similarly to if I hadn't pointed the domain anywhere. I am using CloudFlare for SSL and it has been a super buggy experience. If you know how to fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I had a very odd experience when I first set Cloudflare up on my websites as well. Here are a couple of suggestions:
    1. Are you using HTTPS on all of your pages? If so, then you could try updating your site URLs on your settings to https.
    2. Try redirecting your http URLs to the https versions.

Now I have a new problem. If I go to the http version it works, but if I go to the https verison I get a 404 error page not found page. You sound experienced in the subject. Can you try and help me out? I am struggling. Note: If I set the pages to all https in the general settings of wordpress it causes a crash of the site and accessing any url, whether it is http or https, for the site leads to the 404 page from hostgator.

In your Cloudflare settings, do you have the "Always Use HTTPS" setting enabled? If it's not, try that and wait abotu 30 minutes to see if your site works with HTTPS and redirects HTTP to HTTPS.

If anything, perhaps pxoxrxn would know the answer.
