HTTPS now a ranking signal by Google

Hey, not sure if you guys saw it yet, but the big G announced that https will now be a ranking signal. Thoughts on this?

Theory: Google's helping SSL companies make money

I think this would be more relevant for business and e commerce websites. I think non commercial websites are still of huge importance for googles results, and those owners most likely wont pay extra, nor care about encryption.
I would be surprised if this was a game changer.
