Not sure what’s happened but since changing my site from http to https ssl certificate. My google webmaster links profile has disappeared.

It’s as if google as just deleted all my backlinks.
Can google delete your backlinks?
Very very confused right now.

Gone from over 3000 backlinks to just 90
And on webmaster my site still shows as http
But on the search it’s https

Please help.

But which one is better for link building.
I’ve read online that https is much better.
But all my link building effor has been around http.

Also even though my current property in webmaster is http. My search result is showing the https version of my site.
 
You need to configure within your console and add them both , have you backed up all your info and backlinks?

Not really. I didn’t know that was a thing.
I literally do the best I can. With the little I know.
I’ll give it a shot. But it sounds like another complicated daunting task.
Trying to get the contact form on my wordpress website to work. Literally took me 2 years.
I just fixed it last week. By downloading a smtp plugin.

This has just thrown a spanner at my life’s work. Am going to have a cigarette. This is stress.

Use contact form 7. Pretty simply done.

Don't stress too much. Don't want to get ill before the wallet gets fat.
 
Ironically Google is just in the process of migrating search console to be based on domain rather than the crazy
http:\\site.com
https:\\site.com
http:\\www.site.com
https:\\www.site.com
That many of us will have links built to all four permutations.

But for now you need to add them manually not to miss anything. If you have traffic registering on the other versions then you need to get a 301 set up to make all traffic land on one of the four versions. https is an SEO boost.
 
Nowadays majority of website use https.

Its for security purpose.

https is free.

Get it from CloudFlare.com

Focus only https as your main backlinks.

This is what chrome will show if your web does not have https.
