Recently, I have been reading about different proxies and I found out that HTTP proxy servers re-write the request headers and Socks proxy servers don't.

So, I was thinking if SOCKS proxies can be better than HTTP(S) proxies when it comes to the social media bots or automation etc.

Does the SOCKS proxies have better trust score in their systems?
Is it better than HTTP(S) proxies in any way?

I just thought I should know the opinions of the experts on BHW.

Let's suppose I'm creating an Instagram bot to handle multiple accounts and I want to use proxies for my accounts.
Now my Instagram bot is running 100 accounts on the same server. Which proxies should be better if I want the Instagram to be not able to detect that 100 accounts are anyhow linked to 1 same server IP and using different proxies? Or they are even using proxies?
Which type must be better here?

I know there are a lot of other things Instagram may use to link these 100 accounts but we only suppose the IP address here and nothing else.

If you are using SOCKS, residential and mobile proxies are the better options for your Instagram bot. Residential proxies will make it look like each account is coming from a real home user, and so Instagram will have a tough time detecting that you’re using proxies. Mobile proxies are even better because mobile IPs rotate frequently and are shared by many users, making them almost impossible for Instagram to track.

I'm not an expert but I have seen some mobile apps accept socks 5 as proxy but not http.

there is no big difference between. they are all old protocol and not support UDP. so all depends on your tasks. if you need UDP, you should use Residential VPNs instead.

yes, this is in theory, the socks5 protocol can support UDP. but in practice, there is not a single socks5 proxy seller that supports UDP.

If an account is using a new IP address every few minutes or an hour then IG is gonna think that he's a real user?

I'm a bit confused about this part.
They have tools to speculate on the type of ip address (residential/mobile/etc). If they assume it's mobile, their rules related to ip rotation for exemple will be way more flexible. This is because of the way mobile works (CGNAT), ip address assigned change frequently and can be shared between multiple users.
