Html styles in description meta tag?

Hello everyone,

Apologies if this belongs to the black hat sub forum, but I honestly believe if this was possible/has any effect it would be White or Grey hat SEO (until proven otherwise):

What would happen if I added html tags into the content text in the description meta data? Something like <b></b> or even a <table> tag!

I know that Google shows this text sometimes in the SERP, but I searched if there is anyone who thought of this idea (or stupid idea) and I got no results at all, I also checked Google web master guidelines and found nothing that says you can't/shouldn't do that. Would that reflect on the SERP? Will it look like blank text? Would Google's algorithm clean the text/drop what's after it? Is there a penalty for doing such a thing?

no, if you use google a lot, you will see that all the code except the text is dropped from that description, there is no workaround
