Html & bbcode

Hi

I've just been trying to create some forum profiles but have come across a bit of a hitch.

I'm having trouble adding a clickable link into the various fields of some forum profiles. I know they are supported because some of the forums have other users (I checked) who have them, but I don't seem to know how to add my own.

I'm tried with the usual <a href="http://www.domain.com">keyword</a> method as well as the BBCode method which I can't put here because it will work and display the link. Neither appear as clickable links when I view the profile.

How are they doing it?

I think in most forum they always indicate that whether html/bbcode or smiles are on or off.

However, if all three are off then I would also like to know how they do it. Pl. give an example so i can investigate further.
