Hello all-
I'm almost finished a simple browser game I have been working on for fun as a side project, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience monetizing HTML-5 or mobile games. Once I finish it and upload it to Heroku, I have no idea how to drive traffic to it, and once traffic is there, how to turn it into a stream of income. Do any of you have experience with browser games? Thanks!

You have few options:
-go for rev share deal with publishers - expect low, but long term revenue over time ($10/mo for sucky game up to $500/mo for really good one from all networks combined)
-sell a game through exclusive license where you will forfeit license in exchange for good money - usually this makes ~ $2-3K for good game
-add ads and release game yourself (expect income similar or smaller compared to rev share)
-contact mobile giants and offer them to distribute your game for % - there is many out there - you know, those companies that pre-load apps on your computer - some of them being gaming apps. They are quite open for collaboration.

Thanks! I have a feeling this game isn't the greatest one out there so it might just be better to pursue another method...
