Hello guys,

If a website is targeting 2 countries with the same language with a single version of the website (i.e. UK and Ireland version), if there is a hreflang tag, should it only specify 'en' or should there be 2 separate ones for GB and IE? The website is also targeting various other languages/countries.

Thanks

Hello,

How do you targeting different country, with subdomain or subfolder?
In both cases it is necessary to set an adequate hreflang tag.

Subfolders - GB and Ireland is the EN page - so does it need a hreflang for both GB and Ireland? Thank you

Let's simplify, when user come to website hi can choose only one GB version, or he can chose GB or Ireland but come to the same page? If this second is correct you made duplicate content.

No, there is only one English language version.
