I thought it's increasing counts each time somebody visit page, but it doesn't.
I just did test on one video with 325 views.
I used scrapebox ping mod with a lot of public proxies and after 2000 hits it didn't change views counter on youtube...it's still 325.

Then I did few time manual refresh in firefox and it didn't change again.

It's more then 3 hours when I did this test and it's still the same.

So, does anybody know how youtube counter works ?
Do I need to be logged in youtube or what ?

Sometimes it takes 12 or more hours for the views to actually update. They always get stuck around 300, but actually there are probably more than the 325. Just wait a few more hours and you should see an increase.

YouTube view counter is delayed by around 12 hours or so, if you hit the +300 mark.

If you're views are less then 300, then youtube update the counter every 10-30 minutes, also it counts every view as a view, even when its from the same IP.

When you have more then 300 views, then it becomes complicated. YouTube doesn't count every view as a view. It looks at it's IP, how much of the video is watched and much more. That's probably why it takes so long before the views are updated, because it probably goes through a special view filter. This also why most of the video cheating trick don't work anymore.

I'm interested to know if your method is working. Let me know

can't estimate the time view counter on youtube, some day it will take quick or delay. But every 24-72 hours it will revised the stats

YouTube says they update view counts every few hours,
The server logs cookies/IP addresses and counts it as a unique view, if the person visits the same video again, the server will see the cookie/IP address and won't count it as a unique view.
