Ok tell me the truth now. I need to hear it.

Okay, honest to god truth:
  • Through BHW sales thread
  • FB groups
  • Referrals
  • Sometimes, FB ads
In my industry, referrals are actually not-so-common to come by since everyone wants to keep their favorite writer(s) to themselves. However, on the bright side, client retention rate is pretty high for the same reason (everyone wants to keep their favorite writer(s) to themselves).

People with no price objection pretty much stay with us forever.

What do you mean by gated networks?

Facebook-Twitter-IG YouTube- LinkedIn- Tik Tok -SnapChat etc etc , I can't even keep up these days to be honest.

These are Mainstream Social Media Networks where the bar to entry remains low. That is their uber successful
Billionaire platform business model, mass user adaptation. All are welcome from everywhere - It works. Everyone
feels connected, kumbaya moments and pictures and friends and likes and blue check marks and badges all that stuff.
Awesome, brilliant, great. Let's monetize. The cat and mouse begins.

When these platforms gain popularity the spammers of course onboard because well .... that's what spammers do when
they sense opportunity.

Spammers come in many forms, not just email. Anyone with a few bucks can run targeted ads and spam you based
on your presence on any popular mainstream social media network. The platform owners call this monetization to their
shareholders since nobody likes SPAM.... :smirk:

The platform owners impose standards of some form in order for users to have the RIGHT to SPAM, but it's now called
ADVERTISING. Everyone sleeps better at night because the Spammers have been eradicated by platform policy and
process.

We only have Network USERS who are elevated to Advertiser status and connections. Determined by whatever platforum
policy hoops the user has been able to jump through and how many zeros they have access to on their credit cards.

Everyone is happy, Just wait for the IPO or buyout. It's coming. :p We just need more USERS and more compliant
ADVERTISERS! No Blackhatters allowed! ha ha

Yet all of these platforms can't escape spammers. Hence the cat and mouse.

Last time I checked there were about 5 Million Americans who defect from Facebook each year for any number of reasons.
That's just FB.

Many people don't realize nor care enough about this but many people who dwell in upper income levels dislike and avoid
mainstream social media, the same exact way they avoid attending public swimming pools. It's also why many choose to
send their kids to Private Schools.

That's why exclusionary country clubs have been created. That's also why gated real estate enclaves exist.

It's one of the ways humans choose to legally self segregate themselves from others. It's mimesis, or rather a form of
mimetic desire or envy. Plainly, wanting what others have. The French historian René Girard has written extensively about it.

These Gated Networks have the opposite intention as any mainstream social network which aggregates enthusiastic yet
often naive mainstream population groups who become detrimentally addicted to the platform because super smart behavioral
scientist get paid well to form dopamine addiction through platforms and devices instantly accessible via your fingertips. :p

The masses of people who don't fully grasp that FREE MEMBERSHIP is synonymous for YOU ARE THE PRODUCT so prepare
to be tracked and spammed constantly by marketers. Most people don't care about these things obviously and most people
embrace it as the norm because that's all they know, or because these things are the NEW normal.

Some people do care about these things, this constitutes a market. And so a market is created for the online equivalent to
offline Country Clubs. I refer to these personally and in my reply to the Op as Gated Networks, which are not Free. Just like
mainstream social networks some of the Gated Networks thrive while others fail. This is ONE EXAMPLE!

CJ Affluence Gated Network Example cmpr.png

They contain bars to entry that most people can't afford. Just like most people can't afford a $50,000 to $100,000 annual
country club membership in the offline world. Many gated communities exist in the digital world also. BlackHatWorld is
such a community.

It's just that the bar to entry within this digital country club is geared for a mass market user. It's smart business given the
objectives of the platform.

These places exist online as well. Some are openly advertised, they can be found Google. The more prominent Gated
Networks don't advertise openly at all. You would have to dwell within an existing gated network to have awareness of a
more powerful or parallel Gated Network.

An easy way to think of it is the BlackHatWorld 3 step platform model. It varies little from the FB or YT, social media etc
model in general framework.

Step 1- Free Membership (stacks the user base to builds the network)

Step 2- Once network user is activated you are exposed to better options which exist since you've been valued laddered up..
(JrVip upgrades -ability to sell, Siggys, Banners, BST Marketplace Seller options-Marketplace 2.0, Premium Reviews etc)

Step 3- Once JrVip is obtained you gain Access to JrVIP Only areas of the forum. You are segmented based on your
member ship level which is based on economic support of the forum. In exchange you are given cookies to commercialize
within the Gated Network.

The home page of my prior GATED NETWORK example.

Meaning you'll have an advertised network that can be found online with a higher than average bar to entry.
Then once you dwell within that network, you have options to dwell among other networks with a higher bar to entry.
Where you may or may not have opportunities based on who you are and what you do to meet, network, or grow with
the interesting people within your chosen Gated Network.

Hope that makes better sense now.

My reply to TheVigilante is my detailed example.
Basically, all Gated Networks, & social networking are not created equal. More accomplished people aggregate in
digital spaces where higher bars to entry exist. Like and exclusive digital country club. Everything has it's place
and it's purpose.

Just read your reply above never know about these great share will be of great help.

I believe that site example that I used became active 10 years before your 2013 BHW active
member date, which predates many active users here.

So you've been here awhile. Your reply confirms my mental point. Many people have never
heard of these Gated Networks because they don't dominate mainstream media. That is
largely by design.

Plus if you are an SEO or digital Marketing practitioner who does not focus on VIP SEO & Full Stack
Marketing Services projects, these types of Gated Networks will NOT be on your radar as a
thing that matters.

I discovered the site I think around 2006.

You are welcome!
Thanks for reading.

Happy week ahead!

Not sure but i think cold calling si good way for getting more clients...

It can be with the right cold calling formula. A quality cold calling formula is much more effective than SPAMMING randomly, but most people won't do that. Many people crave automation at the expense of profit efficiency.

:p Couldn't resist!
The actual FIRST THOUGHT that I had when reading your first sentence under your thread headline ha ha.
My brain wanders FAST! Plus my father is a Marine Vet. ha ha long live Colonel Nathan R. Jessep!

Targeted emails
Referrals
Gated networks

Zero MS social media
Zero SEO

So people's minds are infected with social media and Google.
All the winning strategies I have seen in the real life included referrals and targeted phone calls.

Given that I've never closed a 6 or 7 digit agency deal absent a phone call,
Targeted PHONE CALLS should have been #1 on my original short list.

Thanks for the reminder & you've officially OUTED the key ingredient to closing
larger engagement deals ....targeted phone calls.

Thanks for sharing this, I've only recently discovered the existence of low-volume high conversion gated social networks.
