when looking at backlink packages, i check each site and see how natural the backlinks look

Packages are quite useless... those web2, doc sharing, etc have been useless for quite some time.
Instead of a package, buy a decent link from a relevant website with traffic.

You need to check the websites's metrics first and review seller, and try to avoid cheap backlink services.

I usually look at link building packages the same way I’d assess an investment. Here’s my quick breakdown:
- Relevance First – If the links aren't from relevant niches or topics, it's a red flag. I'd rather have a DR 40 link on a hyper-relevant site than a DR 70 on something totally off-topic.
- Traffic Matters – Real traffic shows the site is trusted by Google. If they’re selling 100+ links per month and the site has no traffic… not a great sign.
- Link Placement Type – I ask: Is it a contextual link inside a useful article (editorial)? Or dumped in the footer/sidebar? I always go for clean, natural placements.
- Anchor Text Control – I like packages that let me choose or guide the anchor strategy. Random exact-match anchors everywhere = asking for trouble.
- No Home Page Metrics Only – I check the actual page URL I’ll be getting. A site might have DR 80, but if my link is on a dead orphan page, it’s worthless.

If you want truly high-quality links, build them manually yourself - don’t rely on any SEO packages.

I focus more on the quality of links and past results than the seller's site DR. Case studies, and client reviews matter more than metrics alone. A low DR site can still deliver strong backlinks if the strategy is right.

Honestly, if a seller’s own website has low DR/PR, that’s a red flag for me. Like… if they can’t rank their own brand, why should I trust them with mine? But bottom line: low DR site ≠ auto scam, but it's definitely worth a second look

It has nothing to do with the seller having a low DR/PR site. Someone may not even own a website, yet still be able to provide high-quality link-building services.
- The only thing you need to ask the seller is for their past reviews left by clients.
- As for samples, if you're truly interested, ask them to share a batch of sites for review.
- If you like the sites and the pricing fits your budget, you can start negotiating or request a custom deal.
