    Hi guys

I happened to live in a country where people would happily work 40 hours a week for you for $150-$170 a month, most young adults looking for jobs know the basics of computers and many know much more than the basics.

If you had access to such cheap labor, what would you do ?

I wish if I can come up with something that creates a lot of job opportunities for my community and also allow me to make a nice chunk of cash in the process :)

Note : many might think that with such a salary I'll be exploiting people, that's not the case, they will be very happy with it because the cost of living here is very cheap, in fact many people are supporting a family with $170-$200 a month.

    So ... ideas :D

Fun to see how both replies tried to benefit from this themselves, instead of helping out.

If they have more than basic skills, you could hire them to do graphics/web design for you and that way be able to sell a service. Other option is to build a site of your own if the guys have any English skills to write content for you.

The sky is the limit when you have cheap labour mate, just hoping now that I didn't explain to you how to utilize child labour...

Data Entry and Processing can be a simple business to use with cheap labor. Just let them do one simple things so that you cannot manage your people well.

Thanks bro, at this level I'm really thinking about labour intensive tasks, creativity related skills are there but are hard to find.

I just did some math and figured that 30 full time workers at $170/mo will cost me $61k a year!! that's 30 people in front of a computer 40 hours a week for an entire year! there must be a way to use them to at least double what you're giving them.

I know there is members here from india where labor is cheap as well who are running similar operations, hopefully someone will share some ideas with us :)

Things like data entry, simple data processing tasks, phone handling (call centre stuff if they are actually capable of it), virtual assistant tasks (again, basiv VA you can charge 300-400$ per month for that, but needs English skills) etc. Creativity is key.

And I like the idea of having 30 full-time workers for less than what I would want for sitting in front of a computer in your office for a year :D

Average salary in your country looks to be almost double the figures you mention. Your figures are more like the minimum wage.

All you need to do is work out the hourly cost of your employees and then find business opportunities that make you whatever profit you are hoping for.

If you want to make $40 per week per employee and your costs are $2 per hour, then you just find opportunities that generate $3 per hour.

If they are educated, speak good English and can write well for example, then $3 per hour per employee is easily achievable.

Good for you for figuring out where I'm from :)

but take this from an insider, when you google the avrg salary in my country the numbers that come up are completely not realistic.

People here would be very thankful for a job at the salary I mentioned above.

Yes, there is higher salaries but they are for people with high degrees and graduates of private universities and schools, not for your avrg citizen who is just trying to get by.

The minimum wage here is $110-120 (not sure but it's probably around that number)

I realise my information is secondary and you live there - my intention wasn't to be antagonistic though.

Before I posted a reply I did a quick bit of research on your country to see if it gave me some ideas that would be useful to you - and one of the things I saw was average salary information.

High literacy rates and a good education system were two other things I noted, hence my example about content writing services - although French would be a more viable option than English I think?

This whole idea started when I asked myself a very simple question, what does this country have an abundance of ? the answer slapped in the face, cuz I see it in front of me everyday! there is an abundance of people in their early and late 20s and even in their 30s who are unemployed, but are ok with computers and understand multiple languages, that's when I thought that there might be a gap for me to plug :)

Like I said, creativity tasks are a no go for a lot of reasons ...

Keep in mind that my country doesn't have a lot of strict internet rules, so what I use the employees for doesn't have to be strictly white hat, but nothing too extreme too.

For now, I'm thinking about getting them trained into using some kind of software and all they do is use it and manage it all day and apply the changes given to them from their supervisors.

I have to admit that I don't know what I'm talking about YET, but I'm dead serious about taking the initiative I just need some thing that makes financial sense to me and that could work on the long run.

    You just outed yourself.haha.

Anyway, it depends on a lot of factors, but given that they have technical skills, maybe data entry or content outsourcing jobs?

hahaha no man I'm not from India!

My point was that the indian job market is very similar to ours, so hopefully some indian brothers who walked the walk of using cheap labor can shed some light on this thread haha

Why is there a need to be cryptic? Aren't you talking about Vietnam? Why does the work *have* to be in front of a computer? You then have to rent office space, purchase computers, pay utilities. So your business would need to cover those costs.

If you disclosed your country maybe one of us might have an idea for you.
