How would you go about solving this?

Text is just for reference in future, the issue is with how the text acts over the image - I'm having great results with other photos and the same font colour but with some graphics that really suit the site:


White is too bright, darkening the graphic doesn't do much justice - I've tried messing with opacity and all that.

Dark text seems too dark, darking and lightening the graphic doesn't do the justice either, I've also tried messing with opacity... I don't know if I'm burnt out or I'm missing some trick that web designers play out!

These last few stock graphics are all that's needed for now as the business I'm presenting it to have a dedicated graphic design team, some work and some don't and I've just about run out of royalty free stock photos to use that are related to Ireland... It does need to display as good as it performs - I'm just sh*t at design!

Once again proving I am a dumb*ss! Easily 35-40 hours this week gone into this development and I didn't think about CSS'ing the thing into working...

I tried shadowing and I tried blurs through the page builder, none worked... I should've thought about CSS!

It's not as pretty as I'd like it to be, but they've got the website designers and I'm here interested in bettering my WordPress developments... Let me know what you think!

Edit: an element like the one in original comment has been set to display on different pages to link articles to products, products to pages, pages to articles etc.
