How would you exploit a dead website?

I'm sure we all see dead websites every now and then. I have just stumbled upon a few very lucrative ones. They have high DA (60-70) and it doesn't seem like they are going to be live again, although the domains are still registered. Upon checking their content using Wayback Machine, I'm delighted. Trust me, it is absolutely top-notch, a hundred times better than what I can ever create. And a lot of their articles are still very relevant in 2021 although they were not written in the recent past. It's a pity such websites go down too.

Now, I want to try and exploit as much of that content as possible.

1. Do you think I can use them on my blog, unmodified?
Or do you recommend just taking some "inspiration"?

2. Google may know that I'm using the content from a dead site on my new blog.
Will it consider it as duplicate content, considering right now my blog is the only one with those articles?

3. Of course, I'm going to try and build some backlinks using the existing backlinks of these websites.
But I ask you, apart from this, how would you utilise this goldmine?

if you use the exact same content, your problem could be another person might do the same, and both of you will end up with duplicate contents. if it was me, I would reword the content.

if the content was going to be used for my own tier 1, then I would be using the exact same content.

Thanks for your opinion. Chances are that I'm going to reword them anyway as I might want to add new information or slightly modify the existing.

But just in case I want to just copy and paste the stuff -

Right now there is no website using that exact content. If I start scraping and posting them on my blog, for a while I will be the only one publishing those articles.

Next, if another blog does the same, I think Google will know that I posted it first. So, from what I know, Google will definitely "mark" the other blog's content as duplicate.

However, I'm not sure if Google will think of my articles. Will it consider that I was not the "original" author as the dead website has no content indexed anymore?

many folks have come on BHW and have said another site has copied their articles and the thief's site is ranking higher than the bhw friend site... so don't be too sure that google will put you as the original author..

as to the second question: i think google has a way of knowing all old contents, but I doubt their algorithm is in such a way that it looks up all unindexed content to see what is out there or not.. .then again, i could be blowing smoke out of my ass ! sometimes, we give too much credit to google!

I used the exact content copied from expired domains and didn't have any issues yet. So, you won't have any issues with google for using expired content imo.

As long as the website & its pages are actually indexed, google will be noticed of this, it's pretty much the same as a newly published one,
Copied content is a total gamble, it works on some occasions & simply gets your website down in others,
It's not something worth to do with a serious project, maybe for the sake of testing

I've found some sites similar to OP and sent it through my own spinner and It wasn't taken down by google. But it was only spun very moderately.
